I CORNER
I just bought a Silverado SS in blue the other day with the trailer tow package. This truck begs for that option. I had thought that the twin silver scoops on the front bumper were functional air intakes to the engine. Is this true? If so then then the trailer tow package must replace them. There are NO air ducts attached to my silver scoops. Please advise, as I would have to order the replacement parts to restore the air scoops. I CORNER
Thanks. I thought that I actually took an option which could hurt factory performance. Hmmn. Anyone make an intake air kit that uses the scoops?

rico750sxi
I have a Volant intake that has a hole in the bottom for a ram air duct. I used a piece of air conditioning vent hose to run ram air from the right side vent to the airbox.
BenKey
I did the same, but some guys have gotten a hole saw and cut a 3" hole in the stock airbox and done the same thing. That, plus a drop-in K&N and you're set for about 50-60 bucks.
I CORNER
Thanks again. Sounds like a cheap effective mod. After spending lots of $ and my time to make my 1994 Z28M6 corner harder than a Z06 and lots of little mods to our 1996 Impala SS, my wife has threatened that I am NOT to modify the Silverado SS for now. But damn, there sure is alot of room to add a supercharger compared to a Z28 engine compartment and doesn't the AWD beg for it. Oh well, I will take it through the warranty period pretty close to stock.
