carsport
I normally just selfishly absorb information from sites and rarely give back...for my first post on the site I decided to do my own short review of the Parada Spec-X. Before I begin, I'd like to mention that about a month ago I was facing my first new set of tires on the truck. I bought it used with a new set of stock Eagle LS's at 28k miles. I was now to around 64k miles and knew it was way past time to get a new set. Up until I began to read similar reviews here I had thought (like many of the guys here) the stock LS tires had performed fairly well. That was soon to change. I checked prices, compared manufacturers, compared different tires from all over the place. I finally decided to try out a Yokohama tire, and like several of you had suggested I settled in with the Parada Spec-X. My Discount tire...Pro? was able to give me a discount per tire because I had been interested in the Geolander many of you had mentioned as well, and for some reason it was listed cheaper in their records. This saved me around $20 per tire. So for around $700 I had a new set of tires on my truck and lifetime balance, rotations, and flat repair...with a lifetime replacement guarantee. ( I live in Austin, and across the street from never ending construction which has caused 4 flats in less than 6 months. SO- Immediately leaving the store I noticed a significant dry weather handling improvement. No longer can I make my presence known leaving a parking lot. They are very quiet at highway speeds...comfort level is also greatly improved. Growing up in East TX, I'm used to playing around in the mud with little to no traction. When it rains...I enjoy getting the ass-end of my AWD to sling around and freak the hell out of my friends. Suffice it to say that I was looking forward to the first bit of rain after getting these tires. Ironically these tires may actually have disappointed me at first. I have yet to lose traction at any time with these tires during the rain. I'm not afraid to slide around...so I've tried...and failed. My disappointment at their grip is shortlived as I most desire security out of my vehicles and I feel much safer on the highway or merging into traffic while the roads are wet. These tires amaze me. I have around 1500 miles on the tires so far. I haven't tried sand...nor have I had much of a chance to try ice or snow. This is TX after all. I encounted a little ice up in Dallas over the past few weeks, and had no problems. So as far as rating these tires: I'll give them a 10. If I was to rate the stock LS: I'd give a 6. The Parada are exceptional both on dry and wet pavement, and perform great at higher speeds. They look sexy too ;) (Before it is mentioned...I'm aware LS tires with 36k miles on them would perform poorly as well as most any tire...but I remember the feel of the truck from the day I bought it with a new set. There is no comparison. The Parada Spec-X was a great choice for me.) I would recommend these tires to anyone. I wash my truck regularly...but I'm on the road most of the week and it has rained 95% of the time
Hankg42
I've been running these tires since last April. I'm very happy with them as well.
Big O
They were a finalist for my TBSS also ... I ended up going with the Toyo S/T's .... but these Prada's were awesome tires ( on paper ).
JF-03-SS
I ended up getting the Yokohama Geolanders (smokin deal) and have roughly 2k on them and must say they are a very good all around tire too. Great in the snow, rain, or dry conditions. I def. picked the wrong 1st winter to start driving the SS year round, we have had 10 storms already. [email protected]
I have these on my truck and have not been impressed with them, I am actually getting the Toyo proxes put on Monday. I think i have like 25,000 on these proxes and they are shot. I did rotate every other oil change so it has to be the tires i also had an alignment done when they were put on? As for them in the snow they definately were not the greatest
smit
I've owned a set of the Paradas for about a year. No complaints at all. I've had them in light snow & slush and they behaved good for a wide tire. Got caught a couple times in the crud before I put my winter set on. TYMBOM
I also use them, 305/40R/22's on all four corners. No complaints at all. I've had them for a few seasons now, therefore pretty bald and time to replace them but still ran my 11.4's with them. That's gotta be good for something, lol. KissMySilvSS
Anyone run them in snow? Tirerack.com has a pretty good review on them in snow....Need to order some tires this week for my wife's TBSS. Parada's still look sporty and look to be way better in snow than the stock (junk) Goodyears.
05_gaSShog
^^^ Same here, about to order them in 305/50-20....anyone widened them up the stock rims? It is between these and Hankook Ventus RH06's I think. You guys think widening the tires to 305's is a good idea?
