Project Blackout

Recommended Posts

So since it was nice here in Indy for a change, and I had a few hours with no chores from my wife, i figure I would finally start on some things I wanted to do to my truck. I washed her Fri. afternoon, and Saturday I waxed her. Then I thought I would take the bowtie off and black it out. So after an hour with q-tips and acetone, my bowtie was clear, scratched(not by me), but clear. I also thought I had grabbed the can of gloss black paint, not untill after I had already taped the front off, and sprayed it did I realize that is was flat black :nonod: !! So, I put it back together and put it back on, it doesn't look horrible, but I will be getting a billet one and it will be powdercoated along with my wheels. I talked to a buddy today, who has a buddy, who can do my wheels for $100...score!! so I'm going to take him the 5 billet grill pieces, and my billet bowtie to be powdercoated black. Then it's on to the headlights, and darker tint on the windows..It's small start, but a start nonetheless. Also did the amber drl upgrade, awesome, looks a helluva lot better then white.
