socaliallstar82 Posted April 16, 2008 Report Share Posted April 16, 2008 Got stuck at a train next to an SS, as soon as the arms went up, he guns it. About 1/2 a mile later we get stuck at a red light, so i know he wanted to play. At the green we take off and its pretty even til about 30 then i started pulling on him, by 45-50 i had 2 lengths on him. Next thing I know I see a car in the opposite lane bust a U turn and I hear the SS take his foot off the gas( he had an exhaust), so i do the same. We drop to about 30mph and i look up and the car that busted the U turn was a cop, right behind me, lights flashing. The SS keeps driving off and i got pulled over. The cop ended up being cool, letting me off with a warning, that is, after telling me that he could have impounded my car, arrested me, and on and on with the could of's. If you raced him on valley there are a lot of cops on this street man you have to watch out. I once ran a scion on valley and was pulling when we zoom by a cop that was riding in a unmarked crown Vic. The good thing he was flagged down by a hit'n run accident. You should of raced him on railroad street(that's on the other side of gale crossing the railroad) I hardly see cops on gale always on valley. Luck was on your side! Yeah, i can only imagine the guy in the SS laughing his ass off that i got pulled over and the cop let him go. I plan on lowering the back to level it out. they do have 4/6 drop kits, but theyre kinda outta my price range at the moment. but its in the plan. As far as not messin with a 5.7 stock, im pretty sure 85% of the trucks on this site would hand me my ass, so believe me, i was happy with the win. socaliallstar82 Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Share Posted April 17, 2008 i never raced a tundra yet. dont the RC 2wd run low 14s? we have a guy at tundra solutions that ran a 14 flat stock, and 13.8 with just an intake and exhaust. but you know how it goes, no 2 same trucks run the same. most stock rc 5.7 tundras run about 14.1-14.2 stock.
