garagemethods Posted November 6, 2008 Report Share Posted November 6, 2008 if any of you guys remember the coolant post by me...i found out what it was, it was the water pump gone. so i swapped it out. but i've ran into a problem. i need to know the best way to tighten down that fan to the pump pulley. that big bolt is the one i'm talking about. i got it as tight as i could with the knowlegde i know. but another question is...with the way the pulley turns that bold will it tighten down even more as i drive? seein as how takin that thing off was a bi!@# Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
misterp Posted November 6, 2008 Report Share Posted November 6, 2008 You don't tighten it much at all, just barely cinch it down or it'll be a PITA to remove next time; the regular rotation of the pulley is opposed to the threads on the fan, it tightens itself as the motor runs.
