ebomberger
I'm in the middle of replacing my alternator, but how in the hell do I get the belt off and back on? Is there a tensioner somewhere?
mean05
tensioner is to the left when looking the the motor....uses a 15mm socket and pulls down to the right...towards the alternator Edited January 9, 2009 by mean05 (see edit history)
Jaymz
tensioner is to the left when looking the the motor....uses a 15mm socket and pulls down to the right...towards the alternator use a little "cheaper" pipe on your socket wrench, turns really easy

SuperSportSilverado
Yeah changing out an alternator in our trucks is really easy, I didnt need a cheater pipe on mine. I juss changed mine out with the 145 amp one to run the electric fans.
