Wanted.. Silverado Ss Gauge Cluster

Otay, looks like I'll be replacing the stepper servos. How did you get the needles back in the correct placement? They have no notches or reference points that I can see.

 

from a COLD start turn your truck on and idol for 15min, take a pic to see where the needles are turn off truck and dont drive it. once done hook gauge up and turn on truck, install gas needle as soon as you turn it on are gas gauge reads instantly in our trucks . let the truck idol for another 15min then put other needles back on. you should be good to go.

OK, some questions...

 

- what's a stepper motor? (English is not my 1st language; so some technical words sometimes do get difficult?

- is there a how to?

- anyone with a good link on E-bay?

stepper motor is what controls your needles

once the cluster is takin apart just unsolder the motor and solder the new one in its place. take 10-15 mins to do and about 10 mins to pull out your gauge cluster
