New Guy Here With Ss Envy!

Hello! I'm new to this forum and to Silverado's. My 2000 Chevy Blazer was totaled when some kid hit me from behind while I was turning into my driveway a few weeks ago. So I took the opertunity to upgrade toa full size. SO after two weeks or so of looking at tons of trucks we settled on this one....

It's a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 2wd V6 Club/quad cab.

It's not everything we wanted and defintely our first 2wd truck (I'm an off roader at heart!) but it was the nicest one in our price range.

So I was just trying to find some forums so I could find some info about these trucks and am finding very little but then I stumbled on this one and got my gears turning, I think I want to turn this into an SS clone!

Here is a link to all the pics.....

Real nice, real clean, welcome from SoCal! Love the rim/tire combo and stance. With 148K get that baby fully serviced if not already!

Hi, welcome to the forum :chevy:

Very nice truck there - lots of guys love the '99 front clip styling.

As your truck only has a V6 I would suggest that you trade it for a real SS, because that will be cheaper than cloning what you have. A lot of guys here have done lots of upgrading and if you share more what you want to do in the future they/we can all steer you away from choices that will cost you in the long run!

Well I agree it's not the best option but I could barely afford this truck let alone a real SS. I figure I could start with looks, front and rear bumper, then maybe a set SS wheels. Then I could start on drive train, I would really like to put a 454 in it but I think a 5.7l will work. I'm a do-it-your selfer. I competly fab up all my own parts and make all my own stuff with very minimal parts and money. I guess I consider my self very frougle., and if there is something I don't know how to do I figure it out. But all this is pretty basic and I believe I could pull this off pretty cheaply with the engine being the biggest cost....

 No prob, the '99 trucks look fantastic with the SS bumpers. Trust me you don't want the big-block in there, you want the 6.0-litre, and just keep checking CL for them. The truck you have looks really good on the exterior, with bumpers, lowering kit, and drivetrain it'll be an awesome truck. And it's already the right color. :jester:

Welcome givin that Kail love, its a nice lookin truck mine is an 2001 with 130xxx miles. looks like its have had a good life, SS clone go for it little by little but you will see in the end it will look sweet. the SS concept came out in 1999/ 2000, but the real production started 2003 of the SS.
