paulguy
Here's my best advice for troubleshooting electrical problems... What r u using to test your wires? You need a good test light and good meter. Without these tools you might never find the problem. I wouldn't even bother. It is silly just to throw parts at it till it works, that's what I see techs at dealerships doing. You need to trace down the actual problem. Trace back from the stater. Is it getting proper voltage and ground. How low does the voltage drop during crank? Is the starter trigger wire at full voltage? Is I outputting constantly during crank? Is the starter relay operating properly? Is it getting a good trigger

nh chevy tech
the first thing you need to do is see if your starter solenoid is clicking if it does not click it could be a problem with the ignition switch, pcm, relay, park nuetral position switch, circuit issue or the starter itself if it does click then your looking at a starter or something on the serpintine belt seized causing the engine ont to turn- or a siezed engine but i doubt that also a good thing to always do is see if you have any codes and check for blown fuses heres a starting schematic as wee if you need it good luck Edited March 23, 2011 by nh chevy tech (see edit history)
