jm3907
Well guys I'm gonna send out my pcm to get tuned. I keep hearing about this crank relearn. Well I looked it up and still a little puzzled. I seen that if something something matches I thinks its like the vin or bcm or something like that you dint have to Di the relearn. Anybody mind shedding some light on what I'm gonna need to do when I receive my pcm. (gonna be sending and receiving my original pcm because the tuner has none in stock at the moment). Anything special I should ask of the tuner?

Fireman31
^^^^^That would be the security re-learn. The crank re-learn has to be done by a GM Tech II or another diagnostic scan tool. When you order your PCM, give your tuner the VIN # for your truck.....

jm3907
If I'm sending my original pcm I still give him the vin? So which re learn do I need if any?
AKsilvySS
I think if you send in your pcm you dont have to do the security relearn so you should be good
diggerdan11
I pretty sure that the security re-learn is done when it it tuned. The crank re-learn has to be done only if you install a different PCM in your truck. If you send your PCM from your truck off to be tuned, and they send the same one back the crank re-learn does not have to be done.

cfresh138
Why don't you just ask your tuner? Who are you sending it to?
zippy
If you have him program your original pcm you won't need to do the crank re-learn. Any time you change computers, motors, camshaft, timing chaing, etc, you should do a crank re-learn.
