Not trying to bash the location or anything but according a friend of mine who lives in Chicago that track is in pretty rough shape, or it was last time he was out there, and their management and staff is on the poor side. Just a heads up in case you haven't looked into it very seriously yet or arent set on a location. I know that far North you can pretty much count all the Southern guys out.

they changed ownership and now all those guys said track is great. Lots of the people from the tbss board go there and have been happy.

I know that you are trying to have a centralized location to try and get as many people to come to these events, but I see the same problem every year so far. Its the same people showing up and not many even attempt to show up from the farther reaches of the country. Hell, even you, tony dont drive any of your vehicles to the event... So maybe you should change the event to gave a revolving location trough out the states... This way you get different turn outs of people and you accommodate everyone at some point.... Just a thought

I guess Zach is the spokes person for all the southern truck scene. Chicago cant be any worse than KCIR was.

No matter how anyone trys and organizes an event there is no way you can please everyone. This is a good thought however you still will leave others out of the equation. There will always be someone saying " it needs to be closer to MY location".

If people want to attend they will find a way to go. Conveinence location or not

GLD is my home track. I'm about 45 minutes north. Joe is about 15 minutes away.

Is this track set in stone?

There is also a AWD dyno right in the area as well for those who might want to do a dyno day before the track day. yes it fits our trucks

If this goes through, i will hide all my junk, remove the guns, and kick the wife and kid out to make my house available. There are also two new hotels with in 5 minutes of my house, and a two wheel drive dyno 30 minutes away.

My dads shop could be used for light work. It does have a hoist to make things better

i like the revolving location idea that chp has just because one year i might be able to make it cause i wont drive 24hrs for a day at the track. you ever think of doing a east meet say in the spring then do a west meet (vegas) in the fall ? i think you would still have more people turn up for each meet then your centrally located meet.

This is why I said a revolving location... at some point everyone will be accommodated... hopefully they will still be interested in the hobby.

I would have gone last year, had I had the means and the time to do so, location is not the deciding factor for me. This summer my family is planning a trip to the Chicago suburbs... so looks like it might be a road trip in the SS time.
