1slow6.0
I just had a 06-07 classic tuner given to me. I can run the dtc's and real time engine log, but won't tune, my question is can I have this hand held reprogramed for my 03?
f1ss
I cannot answer your question, but ditch that and go get a tune from Zippy, Wheatley, blackbear. Your gains will be noticeable.
harriss
Goto the diablo website and look up the model #. Most likely its not for your truck.

1slow6.0
This is for my stock 4.8. I'm not gonna waste my money in a live tune. This tuner was given to me so I figured it would be worth a shot it's a 03 lwb work truck lol
1slow6.0
Just talked to my local dealer they just told me they have a used one for my truck that they will switch out for this one for fifty bucks, I believe I'll do it
2001silverado364
06-07 classic is the same overall computer system as the 03. However, the person that gave it to you must have not put his vehicle(tune) back to stock, thus unlocking the vin lock on the predator. Diablo used to unlock em' for 100, I think. 1slow6.0
It's unlocked cause I thought the same, we tuned his and untuned it, there is a part number difference between 03-05 and 06-07classic
2001silverado364
Huh, didn't know that.

zippy
A mail order tune is cheaper than if you had to buy another Predator and with the right tuner will make a noticable bit more power.
1slow6.0
If it was my 03 short bed 6.0 I would, but this is a 03 4.8 long bed work truck, I just don't feel it's to cost effective to waste hp tuners credit on this specific truck stock all the way to the paper air filter, 50$ vs around 200$ for a custom tune, nah il spend the fifty lol Edited January 15, 2012 by 1slow6.0 (see edit history)

1slow6.0
Ok I'm just gonna rephrase, I have a 2003 4.8 with 253,000 miles work truck that I use to go on service calls the truck is Stock stock stock, it is completely pointless to get a live tune on this vehicle, it's pointless to pay 200 for a mail order tune, but on the other hand I have 50 in a diablo tune. Hmmm yes Now my 03 lq4 235 242 595 cammed 3k stalled 150 shot of juice rcsb the truck has a live hp tune, I wouldn't run a diablo or a mail order on it.
