lilsage15 Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 Wanting to do the fog light mod. I've looked at some topics about doing it. Just making sure that this is the right kit even though it says it wont work for the SS will it cuz I went and looked under my truck and found the plugs for the fogs already. http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-06-CHEVY-SILVERADO-TRUCK-FOG-LAMPS-LIGHTS-KIT-OEM-GM-/370532117527?fits=Make:Chevrolet|Model:Silverado%202500%20HD&hash=item56456f6c17&item=370532117527&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr Quote
Miller812 Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 yup thats the one but if the harness is already there i would judt buy the lights and switch seperate so you dont have to buy the harness also. Quote

Blown 346 Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 I agree, those are the same foglights I have and havent had a issue. I bought my switch seperatly from Ebay as well for $40 shipped. Word of warning..... The Foglight housing I bought came with the 9005 or H10 bulbs. DO NOT USE THEM.... The actual bulb on mine melted and turned black due to them being so cheap. If you search my name for topics, you will find a thread where i fixed the Housing form shaking once they were mounted. Here is the guy I got my stuff from... Blown 346 Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 I can get some. basically I went to lowes and bought 4 6" pieces of metal bar in the cabinet handle isle. I cut them down to 4" sections or so and used the existing metal studs above each duct to mount them to. Then once they were mounted I grabbed each metal mounting bar, and pulled down to get the lights where I wanted them. Here is the metal brackets I bought. You will also need 4 Bolts, 4 lock washers, and 4 nuts. I used these as the holes were staggered and were the perfect location for the mounting. Quote
SJ GIO Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 do i still need the switch if i plan on doing the hi low mod Quote

The_aSSet Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Those should work. You should have wiring already there but some people say they don't, there will be 2 plugs on either side that will be attached to the frame iirc. You'll need to do some other stuff like buy a switch, idk how it ties in since mine has a diy harness and switch. Quote
Blown 346 Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) Those will work just fine, I have those exact fogs. basically like said above, mount them hook up the existing wiring that is tucked up near the frame on each side. Note: DO NOT USE THE BULBS THAT COME WITH THESE LIGHTS..... The bulbs on mine melted and turned black. Once that is done, buy your GM fog light and cargo light switch and connect it and turn them on and your done. Took me all of maybe 2 hours from start to finish trimming my metal brackets, installing the lights and turning them on. Heres the switch I bought from Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-2004-2005-2006-Silverado-Sierra-Fog-light-Switch-/140869854488?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20cc7f6518&vxp=mtr Edited October 25, 2012 by Blown 346 (see edit history) Quote
