dcairns
So their system uses a y-pipe vice dual pipes to the muffler? I think I would have to see some flow numbers over just changing the muffler and keeping the stock dual pipes. Sounds like a sweet deal though. How about a nice set of CA legal, TOGs headers? Just to top it off. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think it uses a Y pipe, I think the muffler is a 2 in one out affair. He only had the resonators out when he was showing me the setup. cadowns
Dave, Be sure to find out the details on when the final product will be ready to ship. I have been waiting form them to figure this cab resonance out. I have the Magnaflow now, but it is TOO loud on the HWY. They sure flow good. dcairns
Got my truck back!!! The 25 mpg in a Focus is nice, but I like my truck better Those guys at MagnaFlow know the right exhaust sound to get your heart beating faster !!! Sounds very cool just reving it in park. So far, I would say, it makes more noise, but mostly when you are stepping on it. On the highway, there is some more noise, but no annoying drone. I can feel some of the extra noise through my feet on the floor and on the pedal. Nice tip Looks like it will still bang on my anti-sway bar bracket a bit. cadowns
Dave, How long will you get to test it? That tip looks a bit smaller than the stock SS tip, is that right? CD

dcairns
OK, here are a couple of WAV files http://www.thecairns.com/SS/MagnaFlow1.wav 705 KB http://www.thecairns.com/SS/MagnaFlow2.wav 1.8 MB These are recorded while the truck is in Park. It does sound meaner when under load, but you can get the idea of what it's tone is.

Just wondering about the confusion of your naming of the file.

Just wondering about the confusion of your naming of the file. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry, brain fart Went back and edited that, so it correctly shows MagnaFlow. Gee, you would think I would get their name right, considering they gave me a free exhaust!

m396 #00-011
Well, it's been a few days, anything new to report? Is Magnaflow currently marketing this set-up yet? Is there a real need for the resonators? What's the inlet/outlet sixe of the mufflers, and casing size?

The system on dcairns truck (described above) should be on the market later this month. Jason
evandostert
The magna flow muffler is straight though on the inside not chambers like a flowmaster. You need the resonators. The one tip and single outlet is kinda wimpy. Where are the true duals. I like the stock muffler better.
