I couldn't disagree more! What a bunch of :icon_bs:

Oh no don't say the big dirty S word because the little children might hear. But by all means drive a giant beer can around the track. That won't influence the children at all. Nascar is getting ridiculous with this crap. Give m a fricken break!

The fact is Nascar told the drivers in Feb. that it would not be tolerated. Ron Hornaday was docked 25 points earlier this year for saying the same thing- why should they give JR a break? At least they were consistant. I think JR would have just as many fans if he would have shown a little more class.

I do agree about your comment about the big red Bud can driving around  That definetly influence our children, just like my son ask me "Dad, What's Viagra" Explain that one to your children  I think when push comes to shobs, The big red beer can spends money into the sports, and profanity cause angry moms to call in the phone. Reality is that the rules are written and every driver are aware of them. I am kinda neutral on this one but I also know that in order to NASCAR to keep this races on the air they have to have some kinda control over what is said and showed over the air. Maybe it should be a Pay per view event! Where everybody can do and say everything they want. Who knows maybe naked cheerleaders :ughdance:

Just my opinion I think if you win a race you get the points no matter what if you screw up after it should only be a fine. The word had nothing to do with the race the race was over. If his car was illegal or something that helped him win fine dock him points otherwise leave the damn point alone. I think every child that watches nascar has heard the word $hit at least once in there life. JMO

I'm not saying that they should have let Jr. off and not the others. I can agree that at least they are consistent. Consistently overbearing. There's this new invention in TV land called a "delay." Put that baby on 15 seconds and edit the S's the F's and anything else you want. No need to put it on pay per view. Nascar is fine the way it is. However, if Jr. should lose the Championship by 25 points or less consider my attention to Nascar done with. The punishment just doesn't fit the crime in this scenario.

I can agree with a fine, but docking points is BS.  I don't think jr. should get prefered treatment, just that the point dock is stupid.

When NFL players do touchown celebrations, they get fined, they don't take points of the scoreboard.

:withstupid: I agree, These are the kinda rules that the owners need to fight before the fact. After it happenit is useless to fight them, If every owner sticks up and gives nascar hell believe me they'll listen. They know that behind every owner there is a lot of fans. But like I said don't agree with it and expect to catch a break later on. As far as the NFL Fines, infractions usually happen again and again, Why? Because when you make Millions of $ a year You can usually find $10,000.00 in your cars ashtray as loose change. :D

i figured nascar was going to dock jr points, they are damed if they do damed if they dont. they had to stay consistent. i think there should just be fines. nascar is to controling. no wonder why the viewership is less then last year.

taking points away is crazy, no way should he ever loose points over that deal. he got those points on the track, they have to stay with him!!! he is appealing the points docking. hell janet jackson was not fined by cbs for her episode during superbowl. cbs had to pay 550,00 dollars, she did not have any thing happen to her

:driving:

I think the points should be off the table because of the new format. If JR. misses the championship by less than 25 points, the fine would actually be millions.

Part of Nascar's popularity is due to the colorful characters.

Did'nt JR. get fined for spinning on purpose at Richmond earlier this year?

Points should only be used during the race not after it's over.

Win, lose or draw, points earned should be off limits...

imho
