What do we think our drive train losses are?

Recommended Posts

I had this conversation last week with one of the magazine guys.

Any estimates on what our drive train losses are?

Two ways to look at it?

1. AWD dyno.

2. Front drive shaft out dyno.

Let’s make this easy, stock truck, stock rims and tires, etc.

not really. awd vehicles lose alot of acceleration at the high end due to the extra drag. on top of that, a 2wd with proper setup isn't going to have much traction problem. there is usually an advantage on the street, but it's not usually there at the track.

i would say around 18-21% without the front driveshaft and with all 4 spinning, i'd say around 20-23%.

:withstupid: I would quess very close to that. So, what did it do..... ;)

The tranny took a crap..........

They got one pull up to 4000 rpm and she was like mush.......

We're also having problems with the stock intake.......

It looking like big HP in this truck won't work....... :dunno:

I was kind of hoping Dennis would answer the question on the loss, but I guess he is too far along to do that now. I know he has access to an engine dyno.

Too bad your tranny burped on ya. I thought I heard something pop in the first run. Wasn't sure if it was someone in the shop, or if it came from your truck. I'm guessing if the tranny went, then it was on it's last legs anyway. I would think your hp numbers NA with this motor, are about what you were with the stock motor and Radix. Couldn't be too far off, maybe 75hp?? Didn't you have some dyno numbers of your old setup?
