Silvsteve
Well after a year of riding around with the poor man's drop (shackles and torsion cranks), I raised my truck back up. The main reason I did it was because I had a clunk in the steering and wanted to make sure their was no question of its origins when I took it in. Anyway.. just wanted to post and say that I did not remember how much the ride suffered and I doubt I will lower it again. Back to stock height and loving the smooth comfortable ride. SSminneapolis
sorry to hear you have had troubles with the lowering...maybe it was the torsion keys??? i have never used those before so i am not sure what the ride would be like... rdss
I think he just turned the bolts to get the front lower and did not actually change the keys. My buddy has the ground force keys on his truck and it almost rides like stock. Spindles are still the only way to go to get a stock ride out of a dropped truck. stevebbb
hmmmm, I used the shackles and torsion bar bolts and couldn't tell any differance in the ride and I think it handles better than before. I'm really happy with the results, but it really didn't lower it that much.
GnatGoSplat
I think he just turned the bolts to get the front lower and did not actually change the keys. My buddy has the ground force keys on his truck and it almost rides like stock. Keys aren't going to make a difference in the ride. Keys just allow more drop before the bolts bottom out. cokedrvrbjw
I think the ride had a lot to do with the shocks maxing out one way or the other...also with the front resting on the bumpstops. New shocks would make a world of difference when you attack the tb's for either a lift or drop.
ctrow
I never could get the vibration out of the steering wheel so I also ended up going back to stock. I do think the spindles would have fixed this problem though.

Silvsteve
I very very rarely had vibrations. My ride was ok lowered, it was just after raising it back up that I noticed how better it is at the stock height. I will probably end up doing a real drop kit some day. Wizard
I lowered mine with the Ground Force kit. Also installed airbags in the rear for towing- well worth the money. Wizard

styleandspeed
Maybe your poor ride was because you were riding on the bumpstops? I lowered mine with shackles, and I didn't notice it at first, but I got under it the other day, and it was touching the bumpstops on a level surface with no weight in the rear. Cut one "notch" off of the bump stop, and got it aligned at the same time, and it made a WORLD of difference. The truck rides like a cadillac, but handles like a sports car
