  1. I did the Delphi TNR8000 install. It's basically the factory set-up packaged together for an easy install. It works great, it was plug and play with my Bose system and it looks completely stock. The best part, you can finally see the song titles and artists for everything on XM. The only draw back is that it's a disc based nav system so you can't listen to a CD and nav at the same time.
  2. Always check local laws first, but fight, fight, fight!! Remember, you are innocent until PROVEN guilty. Challenge the ticket and go to court. It will take up some of your time but it will be worth it in the end.
  3. Sending you a PM, would you be willing to ship?
  4. I would just like to point out that Mr. P says his hardened tube is now all bumpy....eeewwwww! BTW, let me know if you need any help with GM persuasion. I'm getting ready to take up the clunking steering shaft fight again. We may as well add your axle shaft woes to the mix.
  5. Here's a little story about a guy I used to work with. We were both towing for AAA in So. Cal about 1000 years ago. He gets called out to an accident scene one night. T1 between a Porsche and some shit box sedan. It was weird because AAA trucks didn't get called to too many accident scenes then, but the Porsche driver was a member and demanded a AAA truck. Turns out she was totally hot, totally loaded and totally cool. It was supposed to be his night off and he was filling in for another guy in his shop. She was worried nobody else would know how to tow her Porsche. They've been married for a number of years now and the last I heard had a couple of kids. You never know how it's gonna happen. Oh, and I think they still have the Porsche too.
  6. Okay, now wait a minute, if he goes after either the SS or the RS then forget all that other stuff I said, IT'S ON!!! We all have a GTG at your place one night and we go get the mother f***er!
  7. Don't do anything we wouldn't enjoy! And if you're not gonna sack it, go home and whack it!
  8. Where y'at and how much for the CD player?
  9. Cladding!!! I need cladding! How 'bout cladding?!? Sending a PM.
  10. Once again, P states the plan. Your DAD should at least file a police report (listing any witnesses/accessories (to the crime, not parts to the car)) to the get the paperwork started and then...and this my favorite part...it's time to lawyer up!!
  11. Nice! I used to work with a guy who raced a Buick Grand National which, I believe, was that same body style. His car was fast as s***! I say leave the exterior as is but drop in a 572 crate motor! Nobody will suspect a thing.....
  12. Sounds like an exception more than the rule. I might think about it to if I was driving a race prep Porsche (and believe me, that's a thought I'd like to have sometime! ), but driving around amongst the knuckleheads on the roads in downtown Dallas, I am all about seatbelts. I'm with the other guys, it's such a habit of mine to wear one it feels funny when I'm in a moving vehicle and don't have one on. Ironically, it wasn't even a dealer option in '57, so my other whip doesn't have any seatbelts at all. Of course I could probably take on a Sherman tank in the '57 and come out wthout a scratch.
  13. I doubt it, only two year age difference and she's at least 16. That's an exclusion in most statutes, especially if they get married. Kids are never a mistake, timing is just the issue. Good thing you're there to give a little Big Uncle advice. Don't give up on 'em!
  14. You would pick the weekend I'm traveling out of state. And I just bought a sweet new Craftsman aluminum floor jack. They're putting LED lights in the cup now so you can see where the jack is going to hit. Pretty cool. Sooooo...how bad is the tranny? Oh, and BTW, it's too f**kin' cold in the great white north! Everybody in Cape Cod Country needs to come down here, soak up some Texas sun, meet some Texas women and see how we cook seafood on the Gulf Coast, along with our enchiladas. You ass won't be the only thing on fire.
  15. Yep, that's what I thought when I first looked at it. Somebody dropped a Chevy motor in a Ford body once again.
  16. Congrats man! Graco makes a pretty sweet reversible car seat that fits perfect in our x-cab back seats. Can't leave home without one now.
  17. What a cutie! 7.5? Well I guess it was a hard delivery! Don't forget to get momma something for her troubles. Mine got a tennis bracelet after the delivery. Let's just say it made recovery go much faster.
  18. Wow, the truck looks great as is. What kind of bed cover is that?
  19. I had, and have, the same problem with my '04 LS. The dealer told me it's an issue with one of the internal servos. They said GM was aware of it and working on a fix. Now, this was back in late '04 early '05 mind you, when mine was still under warranty. The dealership was not good on getting back to me and the problem persits to this day. It's fairly intermittent but pretty damn annoying.
  20. I'm with Zippy on this one, my vote is a bad bearing. I had a rear pinion bearing go out on me in my '57 one time and, as I found out later, the telltale sign was the leaking pinion seal. Okay guys, GTG this weekend is at P's house. Price of admission is a full tool box and a whole mess of floor jacks, bring your parts books and repair manuals too, who's in?
  21. Coat and tie. If you don't have one, go buy one. Finding out how he clocked you is vital. He should have stated it on the ticket. If he popped you at night then he better have followed you for several miles and clocked you with his cruiser. Radar, sight estimates, stop watches and low flying aircraft are all out. If he clocked you with his cruiser then his patrol car should be regularly maintained and the speedometer calibrated to form an official record (see how this works?). If your state somehow allows radar at night then was he on a curve? A hill? Did he have his heater on? When was the last time he attended a training course on that radar gear? Is certification required and is he certified? When was the last time that radar equipment was calibrated? How long was his shift that night? Was he working overtime? Was he in his normal patrol car or a loaner? Ah, so many questions...
  22. Don't ever pay a speeding ticket! Contest it and make the cop show up to court. If he doesn't show, ticket goes bye-bye. His report is inadmissible hearsay unless he shows up to testify. If he does, then see what the DA is willing to work out. First offense can always work a deal. Traffic court lawyers are definitely worth the money if you're truly concerned about your record. Call your state bar association for a referral. In most states, speed limit zone starts at the sign.
  23. HD-DVD Bluray will be going away soon. Makers Mark or Glen Livet?
  24. Yep. I forget exactly what my page address is. I need to get on there and update.

  25. Definitely post some pics when you get it fired up.
