  1. That issue with the occasional 1st gear taking around 10-15 extra seconds to shift into second (no matter how much throttle or hot or cold) was fixed today. The "A" (1-2 shift) solenoid had a tiny piece of plastic from the part itself inside of it, causing the problem. The shop recommended both be replaced at the same time. Wasnt too bad of a setback, $150, plus I was wanting to replace the fluid and filter as well (have 30,000 miles) so it all was done in the process. Now I can safely hammer it and not worry. Now I want to get some times at the track. I did "google" this trans problem and a few others with the 4l65E had the same problems. My transmission guy knew right away what the problem was as well.
  2. WTF ?? That is one of the best avatars on here
  3. Awesome work Dylan You do some amazing work. I am not kidding...it would be worth the two day trip from Wash St. to have you detail the SSS!! I paid $200 for a detail up here and it is not even close to the work you do.
  4. So do you think it was a good lowcost upgrade?? Sounds like it worked out well.
  5. Anyone have problems with thier "A" (1-2 shift) or the "B" (3-4 shift) solinoids acting strange or go bad?? Mine is occasionally holding the 1-2 shift too long and I think it is the solinoid. It is frustrating and kinda scary at the same time when I hammer on it from a stop and the tach jumps to 5200rpm and wont shift for a few seconds I have been looking around and the OEM solinoids seem pretty reasonable in price. Has anyone seen or used High Performance ones?? Thanks
  6. I just ran a can thru mine. Stuff works great. NAPA carries it too. I had around a 1/8th of a tank, added the seafoam, and put in around 10-11 gallons of Chevron supreme. Took it on a good spin on the freeway. (around 60-70 mile round trip at 75-80 mph)
  7. That looks like the underneath of my truck! Did you drive it enough to feel a difference?? Looks great by the way
  8. Mine is open and you can tell a difference from around 2500 rpm's and up. You dont gain alot of power or torque anyway with just a CAI. Breathes alot better. Good choice with the Outlaw intake
  9. Outlaw Power with the Dry Flow filter It is a CAI that is actually designed for the power of our SSS's
  10. Cool!!! I am glad you found the kit. Post up your results and what you thing about the kit. Did you get the red colored bushings??
  11. I got it with the new Neveroil white filter. I called them (Outlaw power) and asked about the new filter. They said it was a better design than the old one and it is synthetic so when you clean it, you just rinse it from the inside out, let dry, and install. No worries about oil getting on the MAF sensor. It is a pretty awesome set-up. They also designed thier CAI to work with our trucks powerband, around 3000rpm and up. Most of the others start making thier power at 4500rpm and up.
  12. Its great for racing, but a pain in the ass for daily driving.
  13. Hey I did find one of the boxes! The part number is 9.5172R - 1-1/4" Swaybar bushing. The R at the end is if you want red bushings. Get the greasable bushing as well. As said before I went to Les Schwabs Tires and they called around to try and find the stuff and ended up calling Energy Suspension to get what they needed for my truck. I am not sure about the endlinks part # I first found this kit in a Performance Corner Specialty 2007 parts and access. catalog.
  14. Go to a good tire and suspension shop and have them call Energy Suspension. That is what I did. You cant get it directly form Energy Suspension and when I wanted the kit I had to have them call, because our trucks were not listed for the kits. Like I said the kit was $70. I had it installed, but you can do it yourself too. Seemed pretty simple. Energy Suspension also had Leaf spring bushing kits that reduced body lean as well, but getting that installed was kinda spendy for me. I am not sure how hard that would be for a do it yourselfer.
  15. Went to the Goodguys Auto show here in Spokane last weekend and stopped by the NAPA booth and saw the Seafoam fuel treatment. The guys there swear by it. Says it is great stuff. I bought a can to try. Anyone else use this stuff and how good is it?? Thanks
  16. Nice kill!! After I got my tune I was at an intersection by myself and so I just hammered it to see how it felt....three blocks after the light and I saw a cop sitting there...I thought "Oh s#!%"...sure enough he pulls me over, gets my license, asks why I was going so fast, I just told him the truth and said "I just got my truck's PCM tuned and was seeing what it could do", he walks back to his car to call it in, comes back and says "this an 04 right?", I said "Yep", and he says "I had one too and just sold it cause I got a kid on the way" , then said "Slow it down or next time I will ticket you". I took a deep breath and said thanks. Man was I lucky.
  17. Did the shop say why it was doing that or what to do to fix it. When the guy that tuned my truck hooked up his laptop and looked at things, there were no codes, nothing strange, but he did say he looked at the "Trans shifting tables" and noticed something was at the same miles per hour?, possible confusing the PCM or shift tables (I think?), and he changed them by 1 mile per hour each so they were not the same. I might be saying this wrong cause when he was talking that indepth I was kinda going "huh?" But it somehow made sense when he was explaining. So far for the last two days if has not done it.
  18. I have a digital camera...but do not know how to post pics. Can anyone give me the simple way to do this. Thanks
  19. The part # listed on my invoice is 3.5209, but make sure you let them know our swaybars are 1 1/4", and let them know if you want red or black. Red stands out to let others looking know you have upgraded.
  20. I am not sure if it came with instructions, but it looks like you just unbolt the endlinks and swaybar bushings, re-install, and squirt a little grease in the bushing zerk and your done . The guys at Les Schwab were talking with me while they were doing it or it probably would have taken them 30 minutes to install.
  21. I havent run the SSS at Spokane yet, but now that I did my tune and have the CAI I would like to see what it would do. They are having an event (I forgot what its called) at SRP (Spokane RAceway park) on Sept 14-15 with some badass cars. I was asking about your current mods cause Shelley Performance (who did all my work) was saying that getting a cat-back exh, LT headers, and a stall converter, and retune, should put me in the high 13's?? Its my dailly driver so I dont want to get to crazy, but it sounds good.
