  1. Looks awesome!! That is one bad ass lookin truck! Great detail job!
  2. Just wondering how you like the Outlaw Intake system?? Did you feel a difference?? Thanks
  3. That was some good info. I am going to check out pricing for the Outlaw setup. Went to a car show this weekend and also some of the vehicles set up for more performance had the Banks setup. Looked pretty good.
  4. Thanks for the info!! So bottem line...you did feel a difference with the Brute force intake?? I mean did you get a better throttle response, feel a little more power, etc ?? By the way...that is a badass lookin truck!!
  5. So have you noticed a difference with your brute force?? Is the tube bigger than the series 57 K&N?? Thanks
  6. Love my truck too!! My girl is even thinking about getting a Trailblazer SS.....heeheehee...I'm not gonna argue
  7. Thanks for the info, but you lost me on some of that?? Are you saying that he lost horsepower with this filter?? and explain ambient temp. and IAT. Thanks!
  8. What up people!! I am still researching all the different kinds of choices for Cold Air Intakes. I like the K&N series 57, but have a small concern with possible oil getting to the Air Sensor. I have a drop-in K&N with the stock air box. I am leaning towards the AEM brute force C.A.I with the Driflow filter and polished tube. It is similiar to the K/N series 57 (look-wise). Plus you do not have to oil the filter. I also read some interesting info about the material of the intake tubes (metal, plastic). Says that since our air travel distance from the filter to the motor is around 30 inches that at half throttle to WOT the air does not have time to heat up regardless of the tube material?? Makes sense to me. Anyway, can anyone give me some feedback on the AEM Brute Force C.A.I with dri-flow filter?? Thanks
  9. Do a Cat-back exhaust and a PCM tune. I had my tune done two days ago and I still cant keep my foot off the floor . It is a huge difference. It is what the truck should have been from the factory. Good luck!
  10. Are these fans brand new?? and aside from the fans and harness does it come with all the mounting hardward?? It should fit an 04 SS?? Thanks Oh ya, any idea how much shipping would be to Wash St??
  11. Your K&N setup looks great! Was wondering if you run it all year round?? I have the four seasons over here (Wash St). No problems with rain or snow? If ya dont mind me askin...what did you pay for the set up?? Cheapest I have seen is $212.00 includes shipping. Thanks
  12. I am in the market for a CAI as well. What makes Volant better than K & N?? Thanks
  13. Found a shop in town, Shelley Performance, that can do dyno work and tunes. Couldnt do mine on the dyno cause it is AWD, but they did the tune with HPtuner and drove it and made the adjustments. All I can say is HOLY S#!%!!!! What a difference. This is what the truck should have been from the factory. Better response with the motor, the trans is a whole different beast now! I cant comment on the gas mileage cause I cant keep my foot out of it. The guys at Shelley Performance did a great job explaining what they did and what Chevy had programmed. They (Chevy) sure program these trucks with a alot limits, I guess for motor protection.
  14. I had my steering shaft replaced (the second one) with the newest GM fix P/N 19153614. This is the latest and greatest they claim. It has been in for around 4000 miles and no problems. I was also a month away from going out of warranty and I called Chevrolet and let them know how disappointed I was in the steering shaft problem. I asked for an extended warranty for the whole truck, they didnt go for that , so I was pretty determined with them to get a extended part warranty with the steering shaft alone. And they did it! So they gave me 70,000 miles or until 2010 whichever comes first. So at least if it starts to do it again the dealer will replace under warranty. I have had the "pump the shaft" after my first steering shaft was replaced and it lasted about 2000 miles and started doing it again. With the wider splines on the shaft, that allows the grease to escape, hence more clunking again.
  15. Make sure when you test drive it, you feel for the infamous "clunking" feel in the steering wheel from the intermediate steering shaft. You can feel it when you start to turn left or right going over some rough road. I got mine warrantied with the replacement shaft and it is working good so far. Is the truck stock?? or any mods?? Mine is a 04 black AWD. Love it!
  16. The new ducts look nice. Where did you get them?? The chrome SS emblems are pretty cool too.
  17. So, taking my budget into consideration....do you guys think it would be just a "quick fix" if I just added the Corvette servo (1-2 servo I think), and had the tune done?? I am probably answering my own question, cause it sounds like the complete fix is the Zippy Kit or the Transgo HD2-C with servos, and then do the tune. Why cant I win some kind of lottery, so I dont have to scrape up money??
  18. How much is the transgo Hd-02 series C shift kit?? I am trying to stay within a budget, but you know how that goes.....the more I think about the how the upgrades will turn out, the better performance, more fun to drive, etc...etc... Thanks
  19. Thanks for the feedback Mr. P. Now when you say Zippys kit is on the other extreme...is it going to be a head banger or just getting nice firm shifts and shift hard (not to break parts) at the occasional WOT?? I want to get better durability as well, sounds like Zippys kit would take care of all that? After I put in whichever kit I am going to have the PCM tuned as well. Please let me know. Thanks!
  20. I called transmissioncenter.net and talked to one of the guys there. He said that I could get the kit installed before I had my PCM tuned. I want to do any work to the transmission first and then do the tune. My reference to the "Cadillac shift" was to get rid of it. Just want to tighten up the sloppy stock shifting and get more positive and firm shifts. IMO the trans on these trucks is the weak point. Jim
  21. Hey guys... I am wanting to get the "cadillac shifting" out of my stock '04 SSS. I have been looking at shift kits and servos. I found this "Wake up kit" on the Transmissioncenter website. It consists of a High performance Intermediate billet servo, High performance overdrive billet servo, and a Oversize pressure boost valve. They say you will not need a shift kit with this kit. I am looking for nice firm shifts and I wanted to do something before I got my PCM tuned. Just wanted some thoughts on this "wake up kit". Would love to hear some insite from Mr. P, ever since I read his great post on Transmissions I wanted to do something to mine.
  22. The swar bar bushings come with a grease zerk on them. They have a narrow channel on the inside of the bushings that allows you to keep them greased after they are installed. Pretty slick! jim
