  1. Hey Guys, I have been talking with Charlie about a tune for my truck. The truck is basically stock at this point. other than the K&N Filter (chrome Tube), MSD Wires and TR55 plugs. I am having the corvette servo and HD2 Shift kit in stalled with a bigger cooler this week stock converter. Should the line pressure be left at stock and Torque Management turned off after the shift kit is installed. What about the tip ring governor speed - should it stay at stock settings? thanks,
  2. I have been searching all weekend for a DD Headunit that will do DD/DTS decoding in the player and not through and external processor. It is looking more like the Kenwood DDX712 and 812 so far. Anyone have any other ideas. I have quite a few DTS Audio CD's and would like to have that capability with the head unit in the truck as well. Do not need navi. THX,
  3. Yes 27ft lbs I thought high I had a shop look it up on there ALL-DATA system and then double check it with their Mitchell system and both of those stated 27ft. lbs not inch lbs. Ya I did not check it with a dial guage yesterday but the backlash seems to be excessive. I have a really nice pattern and I really did not want to disturb that. rgds,
  4. The answer is 27ft. lbs this is for a 10 bolt rear-end. Replace with new collapsible sleeve as well when doing this job GM Numbers seal # 26064028 sleeve # 12479162
  5. Man it has been a while since I have been here, anyhow in doing my brake I noticed my pinion seal was nicely giving the pig an undercoating so with that, my backing plate shields are rotten and I have to replace them and I will do the p. seal at the same time. Does anyone remember what the pinion nut torque is. Thanks,
  6. Udate - This job is turning into a nightmare. I got at the rears yeasterday, Both backing plates are rotten (Well it seems they are not call backing plates any more) The backing plates are not the part that your e-brake cable passes through (a knuckle by the GM parts cartoons) and the outer plate is a shield anyhow both of mine are rotten so I ordered those yesterday and I figure since I am going to have the diff apart I will install cover (girdle) at the same time, not one HP shop in Ottawa new who TA performance is. So I am overnighting a Ta cover and studs from AZ. Thank god I get a 60% UPS discount on my account (cough) As for the E-brake combi kit - These are the smaller of the brake shows with a single mount point and then the adjuster with single piece linings. I ended up with a HS7319 from Raybestos. They have three kits for an 03. My Axle seals are seeping and pinion seal is leaking bad the pig is completely covered in oil. So I picked up new seals yeasterday as well. Hell the truck has about 80,000 Miles on it. I guess I will check the U-joints while I have it the D/S out changing the pinion seal. Hopefully I will back on the RD. by tonight.
  7. I figured as much. I am fairly decent in Corel but that is quite a job in Photo Shop. Hence they pay them Gr. Artists the BIG BUCKS.
  8. I was just browsing around and came across this pic. Is this a Knock off or the real things. Those are Vette Rims I think. http://mysite.verizon.net/vze8koxn/Chops/SilveradoSS1.jpg
  9. Had a bit off a brake (no pun intended) in the weather so I got the fronts on and will finish the rears in the AM. Both existing clip bolts broke in the upper control arm and one in pass side knuckle. Had to drill and retap those. The left side hose had the upper hold down bracket on backwards from russell, it was WAY TOO TIGHT when a full left lock. reversed the bracket and put it inside the control arm and it is much better. I must be gettin old, I remember doing 4 corner brake jobs in a couple hours not too long ago. OK! maybe it was a while ago - LOL.
  10. DwDrummer, Can you get a freight quote to 13694. Waddington, NY. I have a buddy owns a speed shop there so it would be shipped to a business. Can you e-mail me some close up shots of the rims.
  11. Well I finally nailed down my shift kit yesterday. Seems it is only carried in Canada at most Tranny shops and only distributed by trans parts suppliers. No hp dealers. I guess this is how they can charge nearly twice as much as summit. It ended up costing me 195$ plus tax. but they had it in stock on Montreal whereas Summit seems to be back ordered and the truck is going in later this week so I needed to get it soon. Kit, Corvette Servo and a complete flush and switch to Royal Purple. What is the magic number for the PCM Trans Management settings following the kit installation. I am not sure there are many tuners around Ottawa, Canada. I talked to one guy who seems to have a done a few vette's but did not seem that confident attacking the truck. Anyone have a rec for an bigger better cooler, I haul a 7x15 (AL.)Legend trailer in the summer with raceboats that's about it. Unfortunately the trailer is single axle which reeks havoc on the tongue weight. I was actually thinking of getting the weight disty package from Legend next year and maybe some air helpers in the truck. Rgds, Dave Ottawa, Canada. What am I doing when I not driving my SSS!!! http://www.scottcraftboats.com
  12. Picked up the brake lines and fluid yesterday, had to get the Russel kit as the earl's is Really hard to get in Canada or maybe I am just really impatient. If it warms up a bit I plan on doing this today and will post take some pics as I go. Dave, Ottawa, Canada What I do when I am not driving my SSS!!! http://www.scottcraftboats.com
  13. Picked up the new rotors and pads and they look good. We will see how they perform, it has basically been raining on and off all weekend, so no time to get to installing them. The lines did not show up either, seems they had the wrong part#. So they will not be in until Tuesday. Another queston though, does any know the proper Raybestos Hold down kit prt# for the E-brake combi kit for an 03 AWD SS. Dave
  14. I searched the web yesterday and came up with this. Document ID# 1507507 2003 Chevrolet Chevy K Silverado - 4WD -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Hazard Lights Flash When Turn Signal Is Applied - kw contact function lamp left light right switch #PI01946A - (05/07/2004) Models: . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms. Condition/Concern: Customers may comment that their hazard light flash when either the left or right turn signal is applied. Recommendation/Instructions: Replace the hazard lamp flasher (P/N 15764135 ) and not the multi-function switch. That P/N has been subbed again to a 1038 number. I got mine and installed it yesterday now it sounds like a Very solid CLICK with the signal lights on for sure a lot different than the old one but the old one I removed had the 15764135 flaher. But it seems the new 90$ one has fixed the problem. List on this was 113, I get trade so it was like 87. Dave.
  15. Which Module are you referring to? I know this is an old thread but i am having this problem as well. When it rains or it starts to get cold outside. THX, Dave
  16. Not too hi-jack the thread, but does anyone have a pic of these on a Victory Red SSS. THX, Dave
  17. So we have a local shop called KVR performance, they do a lot of import, mustang and Vette stuff, I went down there this morning and ordered my brakes. I got all 4 rotors cross drilled and directional cadmium coated in Black with hawk pads front and rear as well as 5 SS lines and AP5 brake fluid for 600$ CDN. http://www.kvrperformance.com/ I wanted to get these on this weekend as the rears are pretty much toast. I'll post a couple pics of the install when I am at it over the weekend. THX, Dave in Ottawa, Canada
  18. Hey All, I have a vic red 03 SS AWD. I have already replaced the fronts this year with Premium Delco pads and rotors (spongy still). I wish I would have waited now and did all for corners at the same time. However If there is a 4 corner package out there like R1 concepts with ceramic pads I am game for that as well. I looked on the R1 ebay site yesterday but could not find anything. What is the package part number I am looking for and does the premium kit come with ceramic pads or would it be better just to get power slots rotors and hawk pads. I am in Ottawa Canada and run regular steel wheels in the winter so the Alumasport package is out for me as well I think it just vastly overpriced for the gain. Thanks in Advance David S.
  19. Hey All, Does no-one make these aftermarket. GM in Canada wants 202 each Trade cost. I got the truck used and this winter the Epoxy that that previouse owner used to put them back on after he broke them has let go. I would rather replace em with new or good used that all in-tact. pieces are broken off mine. I was thinking about looking about maybe having some two piece billet ones made but I would need to no if anyone else is interested. Anodized AL. If some one else does this please let me know. Thanks, Dave 03 Vred SSS Ont, Canada
  20. New guy here in Ottawa. I picked up a Victory Red SS with 75K on it in May. It has been great. I installed a K&N 77 Series and some new plugs a couple days ago. I installed CTC Bosch plugs as per the look up and they were scrap. I went and got the AC 41-985 and gapped them at .040. I am still having the idle issued anytime cold or hot. I cleaned the maf and the TB when I put the AC plugs in and went for a good drive it seemed to get better but it will stumble when cold, hot and the tack needle jumps all over, in fact it stalled in reverse once on me. I am lost at this point.
