  1. LOL! Steve, these guys are brutal! In no way was my comment hinting that your truck was "slow". I admire your progress and choice of power adder and agree it will be among the quickest around!
  2. Not quite as pretty as Brad's however did just fine IMHO. When I was doing this modification, the R-Racing pulley was a newer thing for the Radix so I opted for a standard blower pulley. I agree the R-Racing pulley is top notch. I had good luck with the Gatorback and would reccommend it. I had the earlier Magna bracketry therefore I did not have the adjustable idler option (mine was in a fixed location. Brad - did you use 100mm or 90mm pulleys? It seems to me that the 100's will be too large and hit the alternator bolt? Close up of mine with the 90mm option (pretty close fit): Search around for Holty's pictures as he did the same as Brads... Now, all this pulley and belt wrap is a good conversation however may not be your issue. Have you don the big-3 upgrade yet? What are your current demands now...keep in mind that you are now adding a second fuel pump and an intercooler pump to the mix and the stock alt is barely enough for a stock truck IMHO. When was your battery last changed out or the contacts cleaned?
  3. Exactly. There is a loophole if the FI is factory installed. However you also must be over a certain ET and MPH IIRC (13.99?). They started enforcing this rule in 2007 but it was in the 2006 rulebook I believe. All drivers need a SNELL 2000+ rating on their helmet and a single layer fire jacket (SFI 3.2A/1, Nomex etc.) for any aftermarket power adder and a stock, unmodified firewall. The higher rating jacket 3.2A/5 and gloves with a rating of SFI 3.3/1 are required if you have modified the firewall in anyway. Again, this only applies to the guys running 10.00 to 13.99. If you are in the 14's with the blower, you are in the clear.
  4. Not sure if this was posted however I am enjoying a free 2 week session of XM starting the 23rd. If you are like me, cheap - and didn't renew after the free year, kick on XM free of charge for a couple of weeks.
  5. with a 20k bank, the LS9 is a waste of time. A cool engine however you could make more power with a built LSx and still be way under that 20k limit.
  6. More than likely the oil pressure sensor is failing. Not a bad fix however get on it to ensure there isn't a bigger problem on the brink!
  7. Awesome! Can you squeeze that one in the garage or does soomething need to go? I'll give ya $1500.00 cash for the truck if ya need to make room! Looking forward to seeing it in person. You going to the GM Nats in Carlisle with the car?
  8. Pretty good price for a low mileage 06 IMO. Could use the saved money to replace the seat covers.
  9. LOL! You are still a Magnacharger virgin if you haven't broke a tensioner. Easiest way to snap them is too tight of a belt combined with full throttle - let off completely - to full throttle again, more pronounced at higher RPMs. I kept a spare tensioner, wrench and belt in my truck at all times. FYI, if you buy the Dayco tensioner at a auto parts chain, they come with a 2 year warranty. OR just buy the HD tensioner and be done with it.
  10. From a "stock" tune to a true dyno tune...I would say 30HP to the wheel difference.
  11. You totally missed the point. PG-13 was for the nature of the reply...not the party in and of itself.
  12. Well, recovering from the party this week. Went to AC, reserved the corner suite at Harrah's (1400 ft2 room overlooking the bay!), had some entertainment form ACpussycats.com, hit the clubs, gambled in a private high roller room, killed the buffet and just plain had a killer time. Overall the party cost $6,000 (plus gambling $$$) but it was legendary with a host of experiences that will remain within a group of 10 guys for LIFE...
  13. I would suggest going onto the HPTuners website and forum and look at the FAQ's section (Frequently Asked Questions). Your questions are covered in detail there. Good thread to read (has many links): HPT FAQ click here Now, I am not trying to challenge your abilities however if you have never seen tuning software before, do not expect to open the software and know how to tune. It will take months and years to know how to TUNE vs. knowing how to USE the software. They are distinctively different topics IMHO. Sign up on the HPT forum and Read, Read, Read. Another great thing to do is to pair up with someone who is proficient with the software and just watch.
  14. Yea, this was sold a long time ago. The motor was transplanted into a Tahoe and performed fantastic for the buyer...until he went mud bogging and sucked up river into his intake (had a scoop under the bumper) which bent rods and killed it. Sad that a good motor had its fate by this method. I am closing the thread...
  15. Krambo

    Obd Port

    Yep. Cigarette lighter fuse.
  16. Looks good. Did you happen to talk to aeromotive about using E85 with "Push Lock" tubing and any compatibility issues? I know some people have issues with it and others do not. Wondering what they would say. Also are the fittings aluminum? They may have a concern with them as well. I personally have no experience with the E85 compatibility on either component but do hear a lot of people bickering back and forth about it.
  17. I llike the purple one: Purple SSS
  18. Chase, I can't remember...did you do a hydroboost conversion???
  19. PM me your Email and I will send you all of the correct offsets / PWs for those injectors. Yes, it often becomes a secret once you have the data...I guess it is kind of a pride thing for alot of tuners. BTW, your IFR for those injectors is just about spot on...so many people use "60" and butcher their tunes, glad you are going about it the right way.
  20. How much idle fuel pressure are you going to be running? I am assuming you are going to have an adjustable FPR with the modifications you are planning???
  21. Sweet! You have alot of $$$ tied up in that set-up. -AN fittings and such can add up quick!
  22. Nice car! Best of luck with that beast, looks fantastic!
  23. Looks great Chase! I have been using the KDW's as well for the past few years and really like them as well. Glad someone else agrees with me!
  24. You will need to route the accessories like this: There are other ways to do it however I chose this method as the belt wrap around critical pulleys is better in this configuration. Don't forget about the water pump as yours with the neck coming out on top will not work. You will also need to modify your alt bracket to something like this:
