  1. Welcome to the site! Enjoy the stay and best tip...search before you post a question. I am sure you will enjoy!
  2. Joe, I am sorry, do not use that configuration as it will give poor results. I just went through my files of configs and saw that one and posted it (never even opened it up). Can't even remember where I got it from! Anyway, delivered torque is a calculated number...there are too many variables to use it as a gauge for HP...like using a yard stick to measure rice. Advancing timing to the point of KR is not the ideal method to find max HP. My 408 performs the same at 24* as it does with 29* with no KR (confirmed at the track several times). The obvious best way to dial in timing advance for HP is on a loaded dyno...one cell at a time. But since most do not have access to one, I use acceleration over time on a fixed course for WOT timing (logged MPH vs time). Since we have AWD, tire spin is usually minimal which takes another variable out. I also do 2nd gear pulls on the same road with the converter locked to add load to the engine. I also like to look at MAF / MAP readings against RPM to gauge the amount of air I process in a given area. The more air I process, in theory, the more power.
  3. Man, I wish I could go. I would love to sit through that class. Joe, try this config when messing with timing.
  4. I know I will be somewhat sorry to see it go. To me, the build / project and tuning is more exciting than actually driving the truck...not sure why. Yea, I had an offer from over seas as well. I am not sure why but the UAE has a great interest in built US vehicles. As for what is next, I will be finishing my basement in my home and then something cool. Tossing around a new Z06, CTS-V or building up a nasty SUV. 2 of my daughters are heavily involved with sports and I had no time for myself this spring / summer (which is fine). Like you stated, a new chapter is starting and unfortunately I may need to be selfless and focus my time for my girls and put vehicles on the back burner. The lowest I had was 9K. I had two serious offers of 23K and 25K. I almost let her go for a trade plus cash however thought twice. If it sells, it sells...no rush. I feel it is priced very fairly for what it is.
  5. There are gains however mostly over 6k RPMS. If you do not have a cam that supports the high RPM powerband, then the lower RPM gains are minimal. 1. Relocate driver side idler pulley. 2. Modify (cut) your PS bracket 3. Different EVAP lines 4. Need a different water pump or change the neck on your stocker (cut and weld). 5. New belt There is more to it however you get the idea. As stated above, the link in my signature has what I did for the FAST intake which is very similar physically to the LS6.
  6. There is quite a bit of modification to make it all work. Take a look at my build thread (link in sig) as I did the FAST 92MM intake which is very similar to the LS6. *moving topic*
  7. Had a free listing on E-bay so I thought I would throw it up there...Declined two offers already! Black Widow on E-bay LINK
  8. Your set-up is taylor made for a higher stall than what you have currently. A 3600 stall speed will be a nice upgrade. With tuning, you can prevent lock-up in first and second gear and have lock up in 3rd...higher than say 55MPH or even only lock in OD. It took me a while to find a good lock up range with my 4400+ converter.
  9. To answer some questions, yes this is a serious for sale thread. I feel it is priced very fair for what it is. A heavily modified vehicle only appeals to a very small segment of the population therefore I suspect to own the truck for quite some time. I am not in a financial crisis at all and have no problem keeping the truck. I have only driven it ~2k miles in the past 2 years...I know someone else will enjoy / use it more than I. New project - Yes, faster and unfortunately more expensive. To anyone interested, I can provide receipts of modifications up to the asking price of the truck for insurance purposes. This goes a long way when applying for a custom policy.
  10. Looks too much like a Toyota. The engine option is FANTASTIC. IT needs to be available in the states in other GM platforms!!!

It is currently using a MAF tune with an OL idle however can give an OLSD tune if so desired. I recommend purchasing HPTuners as you will want to tweek to your taste and if you are going to fire off the nitrous, you will need to flash new tunes. Extra’s at additional cost: 1. Four 16in 2002 aluminum Silverado wheels / center caps / lug nuts with M&H drag radials mounted and balanced. 2. Roughly 50 spark plugs in varying heat range (all NGK). 3. Your next oil change including filter. 4. Two FULL nitrous bottles (will empty if truck is to be shipped). The truck is always garaged and hasn’t seen rain in years. It saw snow once in 2004. No rust on the body ANYWHERE. No accidents. Frame and undercarriage is well maintained as I painted all exposed metal. Interior is a 9/10 in my opinion only because it isn’t a brand new truck. Seats have been WELL cared for along with the dash and carpet. This is not a show truck however cleans up very nicely and can be confused for one at shows. There is a small nickel sized dent in the rear passenger side door that can be easily removed with a paintless dent removal kit. I have just been lazy as it is barely noticeable. There are a few very minor, almost invisible paint imperfections from typical driving hazards. This is not a typical daily driver as a big cammed, high stall converter truck takes some getting used to. The ideal owner will use this truck as a weekend toy for cruise night and showing off a little. I do not recommend city driving or any type of towing / hauling. A cam and converter change will make this truck a great daily driver if one should desire. The truck did see some track time and turned a best naturally aspirated time of 12.4 @ 105 with open headers and no weight reduction. With a 200ish shot of nitrous, it ran a best of 10.86 @ 128 with open headers and drag radials and some weight reduction. There is a lot of room for improvement. The only needed item for this truck, in my opinion, is a hydroboost brake set-up. With the low vacuum the big cam generates at low RPM, braking is hampered only at low RPM. With good vacuum (higher RPM) the braking is fine. The truck WILL PASS an OBDII plug-in inspection and visual as all EVAP and emissions controls are on and functional with the exception of hollow catalytic converters. I have serious doubts it will pass a sniffer if your state still does this method. The truck just passed PA State Emissions and Safety inspection last month and is good for a year in PA. Asking $27,900 as it sits in the pictures. WITHOUT ALL of the nitrous it is yours for $23,500 FIRM. This will include a brand new FAST 92 intake Title is in hand for a fast transaction. The modifications alone total more than the asking price. You can buy the truck, part it out and slap in a junkyard LQ9/65e and MAKE MONEY. E-mail – [email protected], or PM through this site. Thank you for looking!
  13. I match all timing tables for the idle cells.
  14. You raised my curiosity so I did a quick check. My stock 2003 Silverado SS OS has 503 parameters (tables) using HPTuners Pro, I personally modified 213 of these parameters (tables) to make my truck what it is today That was the first time I did that comparison...interesting. To the OP, depending on how deep you are going to modify, I would suggest a "tune" from a reputable tuner. If you are going to do some pretty extensive mods (cam / heads / blower) I would suggest purchasing the tuning software your tuner of choice uses so that you can ping changes over E-mail.
  15. LOL! The family truckster resto mod...Clark Griswold will be pissed.
  16. Awesome! Can't wait for the build updates! So what made you go with a KB over say a TVS 2300 jackshaft drive?
  17. May need to have someone with some logging software run a few logs for you, even pull the tune file to "check" if it is indeed stock. Keep an eye on the CEL and if and when it signals a code, have it pulled and post up what it was. There are quite a few guys on here that can drill down and figure it out. Hell, you may have a mild cam in there with a stock tune file...
  18. Hey Brad, While I can't speak for the group right now, I would encourage a "majority rules" type of decision. Keep the suggestions rolling.
  19. Whatcha talkin bout Willis? The Silveradoss.com staff is watching this thread and discussing. Just because a staff member doesn't post, doesn't mean their not reading. If and when the time comes for changes, it will be made well known.
  20. I did bed with remote bottle openers. Ignore the lines, these pics were taken at install. They have since been cleaned up...
