  1. I also live in a area where there is no emissions. State law in Illinois is any shop cannot remove cats without putting in new ones or your old ones. Otherwise there is a $5,000 fine on the shop. Hollowing them out is fine,
  2. I ditched my Bose for Pioneer 3 ways. I couldnt ask for a better quality sound. If you want bass, I would also suggest going with a sub. I have a 12 Inch Alpine type R and it shakes my truck.
  3. They are tucked up decent. You will look over them every time if you have them. It took me about 20 minutes to find mine, looking and feeling around the harness. You have to feel blind, then I found a harness and a plug that was just hanging there, and there the one side was. Ill get some pics to help you out and post them.
  4. It might not be everyones taste, but I thought it was kind of cool. http://www.amazon.com/Chevrolet-Silverado-Chrome-Emblems-Tailgate/dp/B00OK1243Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418287308&sr=8-1&keywords=silverado+ss
  5. Any exhaust shop will not remove the cats as its illegal unless they replace them with either high flow or OEM. If you go to a speed shop thats a different story. They will put in piping where the cats used to be.
  6. I also vote against a collapsed lifter. Your truck would miss and drive like crap. It would be constant.
  7. Unless the truck was tuned, and the trans pressure was adjusted that would stay the same. But it wouldnt cause slipping. GM cannot replace anything drive train or motor wise if they see the tune has been messed with. As a side note... When my trans started to act up and slip, I never once threw a code, nor did the dealer retrieve any. It was all in perfect timing of having the tech and service writer with me when it happened. Just found this, This is what My warranty was for my new trans. 3 years or 100,000 miles which ever comes first. http://www.mycertifiedservice.com/auto-repair/transmission-repair.html
  8. I meant from the outside.
  9. I dont blame you, Im the same way. When was the trans put in, how many miles have you put on it? GM covers the trans with a warranty for so many miles, I believe its 6 months or 6 thousand miles If I remember right. I had my trans replaced for a same issue but mine was from 2nd to 3rd gear every now and then. It took me 4 times test driving the truck with a tech to replicate the issue. I would call a dealer and ask what the warranty is on it. The dealer ended up replacing my entire trans instead of trying to fix the issue. Its cheaper to replace it with a new one than tear it all down and fix it with all that labor.
  10. If the trans is brand new there wouldnt be anything in the valve body. if there was a blockage there, the trans would get hot and the trucks shifting would get worse, and become to the point of it just going to neutral. I wouldnt touch the trans. Its still under warranty, bring it back to the dealer.....
  11. I have had multiple offers from dealers and private buyers even from this site offer me $22K to 25K for my truck. 03, 45K Mint in and out. Since this truck is 3 years newer than mine, I dont see what he couldnt get that. Yes people do get killer deals on low mileage SSS's, its either because they dont know what they have, what they are worth, or what the need for them is, or just need the money and have to let them go for nothing. Ive been there. I let go a 35K Z06 for $21,000.
  12. The vid doesnt show any rolling tires. I just hear turbo for about 2 to 3 seconds. I would like to see it though.
  13. No programming required. Just hook the bulbs up, get your switch and your done. The harness isnt that far up front near the frame rails. Its almost basically above and behind the brake vents. If your not looking hard you wont find the harness, your look right past it.
  14. Taking the headlights out will not help you find the fog harness. Its under the truck above the brake vents.
  15. The easy part is pulling the drain plug and wiping off the magnet. The harder part is putting the fluid in from the top. I used a clear hose that fit over the bottle of diff fluid and went into the fill hole. I had to pour slowly and angle the bottle in a weird position. Once i had enough fluid out of the bottle, I put a small hole in the end to let the fluid flow. Fill it to the top of the fill hole. Once you see fluid coming out its full. While your down there, I would do the transfer case also, if it hasnt been done. Keeping up maintenance will help alot. I have never had a issue with anything other than doing oil changes, alternators, and battery once. If you do the fluid changes, rear diff etc within the mileage GM refers to, You wont have a issue.
  16. My factory harness was tucked up behind the front bumper cover near the brackets on each side. You just have to follow the other wiring harness since the fogs are tied in with the other harness.
  17. Put the factory fogs in with the factory switch, and used 6000K HIDs. Took about a hour to install with making the brackets for them.
  18. Did the inner tie rods fall when you removed the outers? If they werent tight where they would stay in place firmly, they are junk.
  19. I do the jack stands as a precautionary measure. Tires dont get flat spotted liker they used to, but still can from sitting. My camaro sat for 5 months and the tires got flat spots. Those were BFG. It doesnt hurt to let the suspension hang. Stabile is always a good idea to remove moisture from temperature changes. You WILL get moisture that forms. Almost always starting shouldnt happen. Mine always starts with out a problem. I would be careful about filling the tires to max pressure, It isnt good for the steel belts in the tires to be expanded for the length of winters.
  20. Doesnt look right to me. It doesnt blend with the halo being only part way around the light.
  21. I like how he dresses the tires but he cant even wash it correctly. Its not even close to what hes asking for it. He destroyed it. Id give him $500 for it, pull the motor and trans, sell those and sell it to a junkyard for $400.
  22. I have used 87 in the past and never had a issue other than really bad gas mileage.
