  3. In my opinion 160 deg stat is fine, but a 180 deg stat will do just fine. Electric fans is the way to go, I have the HPM dual fans that I picked up off this site and my temperatures dropped quite a bit. I live in West Texas where as of lately the temps are over 100 and my trucks temp stays constant at 190. The fans make a difference however, you could have air trapped in the coolant system. Do you know if it has been serviced lately? Another reason for the over heating could be a bad termostat (rarely happens) or debris in the radiator/ coolant system that can cause a blockage of flow therefore creating a higher operating temp.

  4. Semper Fi brother! Cars look great, good luck on the modding of both!

    Ok Guys,

How is everyone ? I have been a member of this website for a very, very long time and have owned 2 SS's, everyone once in a while I like to stop in and say hello and give everyone an update....My last updat eI had purchased a 2011 CTS-V Coupe in black on black and its amazing I love that car. I just purchased a another vehicle, I currently in the Marine Corps but I raced Motocross for 16 years before I joined, and I stil llike to ride whenever I can. Just last week I purchased a nearly new Ford E-350 Econoline Can with a 6.0 Power stroke....I put a set 22'' Ballistics Off Road rims with Cooper 305/40 all terrain tires.....and I am putting a massive stereo in the front and a wall with a garage in the back....here is some pics, let me know wha tyou think ! !

P.S. Unfortunatly.....with the SCT Livewire chip I have on it with the Custom Tune....it would SMOKE my SS Stock...hehe, but I still loved my SS to death ! let me know wha tu guys think, and if ANYONE has any ideas how I can put an exhaust system on this Van let me know, no one makes a kit that will fit E-Series, only F-Series, and no one around here can ben 5'' Pipe.....

  5. If it's 95 out you'll be sucking hot air regardless... The other negative of the Voolant Scoop is that, if you live where it rains often then you can possibly get water in your engine through it! It's not meant for water conditions or off road neither.

If you get the Volant, dont forget if its 95 out you will be sucking that hot air in through the ram air. Also the Volant is not a true concealed intake, their is an opening on the left side (faceing the passenger front wheel). My plan is to buy the ram air and connect it to the stock air box and add a conical oil free intake like the AEM. The GMPP is a true concealed intake, might want to check that one out, not sure if its an oiled filter or not though.

  6. Before you go and spend 400-600 for a new/ used cluster, Whats the problem? If its a "Dead" or "Sporadic" guage, it could be a simple guage motor replacement. You can buy a new motor on ebay and other sites for less than $10 bucks and all you need to replace it is: minimal electronics experience and soldering iron, solder, and a bit of patience...
