  1. If #9 in the picture is what you need the part number is 15734687. The price showing is from gmpartsdirect.com.
  2. Seat panel part # is 88941680, I bought one through my local dealer for around $10. If you order it from the dealer you might do a price check on a speaker from them as well.
  3. Taylor I thought of you the other day as I was replacing my battery, damn thing went bad after only 8 years! Sorry, just had to do it!...what battery count are you up to by now?
  4. Crap!...the Superbowl was yesterday?...dang that's the 45th consecutive one I've missed! But.....I did something way better than watching a football game.... I spent 418 miles of quality time behind the wheel of the SS moving my son to Moscow, Id., and I might say Miss March 2009 performed flawlessly!
  5. I had mine done by a place in BC, Canada which has since closed their doors, they're referring people to http://www.muellercorp.com/ . If I remember correctly I paid around $300 for 2 Ducts, 2 Duct Grilles, and 1 lower Bumper Grille and it took about a month.
  6. That's a good idea Steve. One other thing I'd like to see is if the tutorial has pictures associated with it, sss.com needs to take ownership of them so if the poster leaves the forum we don't lose the pictures like we have in some of them.
  7. I'm one of the "Old Geezers" here, age wise and years on the forum, still check in at least once a day. 20k members is getting up there, I remember early discussions here as to how to get the word out about sss.com.
  8. At Bob47's recommendation I bought a Panasonic Lumix (ZS1)point & shoot for the wife for about $260...the wife loves it and it takes great pic's.
  9. Thanks everyone, I woke up alive this morning so it was a good day...at my age that can be a concern!
  10. Didn't mean you were "trying to start stuff", sorry if you took it that way, nor am I criticizing anyones opinion about them. I've been on this forum for many years and this type of topic has been discussed several if not many times before on how Chevy missed the mark on them; should have a supercharger, should have been a reg cab, should have lowered more, etc, etc, etc. No matter how it came equipped or available options; it wouldn't have been the right one for everyone. Personally I think Chevy hit the nail right on the head with them; it's a usable pickup with a style all its own and decent power and is a good platform for the hot-rodder's that want to build it up. It covers a wide owners age range. I bought it for the AWD in the winter; you put a good set of snow tires on it and it will dang near climb a tree, the extended cab for those times I need to have more than 1 passenger (my Sheppard likes to roam the backseat too), and the power to yank my 20ft boat up and over the hills with above average ease. Plus it's still the best looking pickup out there today! Oh and don't forget the numerous trips to the local landfill loaded with garbage. I grew up in the day of the 70 Chevelle SS's, 67-69 Camaro SS's Z/28's, L88 Corvette's and the first thing the new owners would do was start modifying them; blowers, headers, cam, exhaust, wheels, you name it. When I was in the age group most of you are here now I wanted to modify it the way I wanted it, not the way some corporate drone thought I wanted it, modifying it was the fun of it...and boy did we have some awesome all-nighters building up, assembling & installing engines...no pre-assembled engines for us.
  11. Some auto parts stores will read the code for you.
  12. No, if there is the possibility of it stalling on him it is unsafe to be driven on the streets/highways. Edit: And yes, I did let my son take the SS to some school functions and a time or two for just out cruising around.
  13. Mark we're about a month away, any updates? What day(s), time does everyone want to meet up and where? Any recommendations for Hotels?
  14. New member, not enough posts?
  15. Sounds like the intermediate steering shaft clunking, common problem with Silverado's. Chevy was/is replacing them if you are still on warranty, and if you're out but not to far out of warranty some dealers have been doing a "good will" replacement. I had mine replaced about 10,000 miles ago and the new one is still quiet. If you want to replace it yourself the part number is 19153614, and gmpartsdirect has them for $50.98 Here's Dan's post that has the replacement procedure.
  16. I'll try to make the 7/11 show, bad thing is with me living 3+-hrs away is having too leave at the crack of dawn just to be able to park within 5 blocks of it, which doesn't make for much of a SSS group gtg feeling.
  17. Wow Mike you don't fool around when you come up with excuses to not attend! Did you replace it with something else...new Camaro SS by chance??!!
  18. Welcome! Keep an eye on the Events/Gatherings/Rallys forum, the California Gang is fairly active when it comes to meets.
  19. Nice weapons! The wife bought me a "toy" for our anniversary a couple of months ago, it's a S&W M&P .40 Compact. I qualified with my old department a couple of weeks ago and can now carry concealed nation wide.
  20. The type of paint job would be the deciding factor for me. If they're only painting the exterior surfaces I'd stay black, if they're doing a true color change which includes painting all the door jambs etc. then go with the color you want. Keep in mind too when/if you go to sell it some prospective buyers may want the original color.
  21. Don't believe there ever was a "Recall" on the Intermediate Steering Shafts, they were replacing them while on warranty and some were doing a "good will" replacement after your warranty expired if your mileage wasn't too far out. I think gmpartsdirect.com has them for $50+-.
  22. Darn I was hoping for some 10-11 ga with the factory bevel, I already have them in 18 ga.
  23. What thickness will the outside emblems be?
