  1. I am a bit partial to the 05 with cowl hood. IMO nice aftermarket>stock.
  2. not only the moderators look at #13 of the same post. The totm winner, too???
  3. OK, they now all work... sort of... Now, the passenger side high and driver's low only come on every other time I turn on the headlight switch. I have double-triple-and quadruple checked my wiring, and fiddling with the wiring does NOT make the light flicker or go out. The only thing that works is to kill the headlights and turn them back on (to turn on the low beam) or cycle the hi beams (for the high). Very strange. I have tried moving the ballasts around, same thing, same places. I am about ready to quit fiddling with the electrical system for good. This truck gives me nothing but trouble every time I try something electrical or computer related... Luckily I don't have anything else to do once my HID's are working. oh, and I got the correct bulbs today, only he didn't have any more 6000k's. I decided to get 8000's for the highs, and kept my 6000's for the lows. I think it looks great, when they all work. Thanks again guys and gals for all of your help. -Tim
  4. Sorry, forgot the quote If I can afford it, I'll be coming up through east Texas and through Oklahoma. What day are you planning on leaving?
  5. I just don't understand why 1 works, but the rest don't???I mean, I'll try it, but I think the plug only goes 1 way??
  6. I guess I'll be the first one to say it... Nice ride, man.
  7. The only problem is, that the instructions say NOT to reverse polarity because it would burn up the ballast. I'm still trying to get ahold of the manufacturer to see what they say. Thanks for your help.
  8. I just went to the Houston Auto show this morning, and there was a vendor there selling HID kits. I bought a 6000k low beam and a 6000k high beam kit. While I was still at the show, the salesman plugged up all 4 ballasts, 1 to each of the 4 bulbs, and it all worked. I got home, installed the kit, and no driver's low beam. Pulled the battery back out, checked all wiring, and reinstalled. Still nothing. It is a fricking plug and play kit. One plug to the ballast, two single pin plugs to the HID bulb, and the single pin plugs are male-female and female-male (each side has a female and a male plug, no crossed wires.) Also, the high beams I got were the wrong bulbs. I have called the manufacturer to get new bulbs, and I am going to try the ballasts on the known good plug tomorrow morning to double check that the ballasts are good. I know the plugs are getting power, as the original bulbs still work perfectly. I just don't get it. Now, I installed a fire and ice LED light bar under my tailgate a few months ago, and had problems there, too. The lights worked on one of my dad's 03 silveradoes, but not mine, or the dually ( all 3 are 2003 models.) We contacted the manufacturer then, and they sent us an inline resistor(???) because they said these trucks have a logic ground or something like that. I don't know if this is true, or has anything to do with my current issue. Anyone have any ideas? P.S. Here's a comparison pic of the HID (passenger) and standard (driver) bulbs. Too bad only the passenger low beam works with the HID
  9. I have to say, that black GN with the blacked out wheels was sick!! Nice pictures, man.
  10. I have been shopping a bit lately as my truck will be paid off soon. I drove a G8 Gt, and was not exactly impressed. It was comfortable, but not exactly what I would call quick. And the EPA rating is 15/24, which isn't great. If you are going for mileage, it may be more cost-effective to keep the SS and baby it... I'm just saying, these may be things to think about. I am not trying to persuade you one way or the other, but just giving my impression of the car. As for the tbss, I don't have any experiences with one, so I won't comment on it. Hope this helps -Tim
  11. thanks, first time I saw it... I fail
  12. "An extraordinarily handsome East Coast man decided he had the responsibility to marry the perfect woman so they could produce beautiful children beyond compare. With that as his mission he began to search for the perfect woman. Shortly there after he met a Texas Redneck who had three stunning, gorgeous daughters that positively took his breath away. So he explained his mission to the Texas Redneck and asked for permission to marry one of them. The Texas Redneck simply replied, "They're lookin' to get married, so you came to the right place. Look 'em over and pick the one you want." The East Coast man dated the first daughter. The next day the Texas Redneck asked for the man's opinion. "Well," said the East Coast man, "she's just a weeeeee bit, not that you can hardly notice...pigeon-toed." The Texas Redneck nodded and suggested the East Coast man date one of the other girls; so the man went out with the second daughter. The next day, the Texas Redneck again asked how things went. "Well,"the East Coast man replied, "she's just a weeeee bit, not that you can hardly tell..cross-eyed." The Texas Redneck nodded and suggested he date the third girl to see if things might be better. So he did. The next morning the East Coast man rushed in exclaiming, "She's perfect, just perfect. She's the one I want to marry." So they were wed right away. Months later the baby was born. When the East Coast man visited the nursery he was horrified: the baby was the Ugliest, most pathetic human you can imagine. He rushed to his father-in-law the Texas Redneck and asked how such a thing could happen considering the beauty of the parents. "Well," explained the Redneck... "She was just a weeeee bit, not that you could hardly tell.... pregnant when you met her."
  13. Not really, because in the South, we just call every soft drink a Coke. Doesn't matter what flavor.Unless you are ordering something specific.
  14. I was bored today, and got started on Facebook. I started playing CityVille, and was wondering if anyone else is on there?
  15. Same here. Those guys are hilarious!!! I agree to pretty much all of this. The blind drifting episode was hilarious, and I think they have potential to be pretty good. But, they probably won't be as good as the brits. The cool thing about Clarkson, May, and Hammond is that they are 3 fairly average guys, not the usual tv types. Filling the show with pro race drivers would just make it a bit boring imo. The fact that three average guys get to do this for a living is part of the appeal. (like maybe when they retire, I could take over for one of them)
  16. first, I think the original post could be legit. I've seen a couple on eBay with stupid low miles before. Second, these trucks are notorious for gauge cluster problems, so another cluster wouldn't be a real stretch. Mine was replaced under warranty at about 37-40k, and they almost installed a black one, until the service manager caught the problem. The new one they replaced it with was messed up, too. Oh, well. 3rd time's a charm.
  17. This needs to be # 1!!!!!! followed by the stupid a$$ fender vents!
  18. Sounds like fun, but I've read that pulling front driveshaft in these trucks will hurt power output to the rear wheels, and fry the transfer case. Anyone else know about this?
  19. I am trying to take off that day, I'll let you know as soon as I know.
