  1. Thanks a ton guys... I just saw how cheap the acer google chrome was at $200 and wondered if the os would work but thanks once again to this awesome sight I was given solid advice... I know I get what I pay for, but for now I all I needed was a light weight small laptop to tune my personal vehicles and to always be running diagnostics in my sss as I go down the road.... I have enough mods on my truck now that I think it would be benificial for me to always have the scan on and recording all my driving ativities in different weaher situations. If I were to get into heavy customer tunning I would no doubt get a very high speed an capable tuning machine lol... But for now I picked up a ASUS notebook 11.6" x200m Not the badess PC but for a cheap $280 notebook touch screen its not bad... specs below... Battery not the greatest but for watching real time scans I will be running it with my power inverter and unplugging it for actual tune uploading and flashing.... This will basically be another gauge to help me monitor just like my wideband, fuelpressure, tach, and boost gauges... and tune when I need it LOL.... I have a swivel mount in mind just for the lap top too to avoid it being on my passenger set... BTW THIS IS NOT MY DAILY DRIVER... LOL.... So the back seat will be taken out and my nitrous will be within reach in its place lol....

  2. Thanks for the feed back guys! And ill upload a vid of how the cam sounds soon. And @1badntmd8r I ordered new clear OEM lights and smoked em my self. I smoke head and tails as a part time job. And again thanks y'all on the good feed back! Next step is a whipple and TC 3500 with a stage 2 shift kit and 3.73 gears!

That is a beautiful truck bro props.... with that said LOL...3.73 gears on a AWD 2004 SSS?!? ..... There is always that gas savings debate when your going easy on her but in reality you will probably get about the same. These trucks have 4.10's for a reason in the AWD platforms... Because they are big and heavy and the parasitic loss of the AWD drivetrain those 4.10s are already acting like 3.73's... If not for the gas savings myth then I am not sure why you would go to 3.73's front and rear... Your stall is not super huge and the whipple will add a ton of HP and TQ and even with all that you won't be burning all four tires off the line.... I have a 03' AWD SSS with a mp112 and 90mm upgrade that is pullied down about as far as it goes, with a cam, meth, full exhaust etc.... (just read my sig) and I am running lower gears yet at 4.56 with a 3000 stall.... With the 4.56's I barely spin the front tires at launch under WOT and when my raptor servos and shift kit hit hard into second I spin just a little bit more for a second or two.... My NO2 is not hooked up yet so I will probably be having a little traction issues under spray and boost if I spray off the line LOL... :jester:

  3. Ok my old acer CPU is getting old and is over 8 years old now. The battery last only 20-30mins and I want to get a new one but smaller like an 8-10" just for tuning and monitoring diagnostics on the fly. My question is will hptuners run off of a Acer with a google chrome OS.

  4. Your right Randy, Zippy is the best of mankind but Wheatley isnt a normal man he is a tunning GOD... LMAO Zues the god of thunder, Poseidon the god of sea, Ares the god of war, and Wheatley the god of tunning.... :jester: All jokes aside I would be more tham happy with any of the forementioned tunners LOL

  5. It has everything to do with his tuning... What a guy beleives in and who he supports like veterans and honest hard working americans instead of those with there hand out all the time, says alot about who they are and who they care about... Especially if its a hobby and something he loves to do, not something he has to do because with out, he would be out of a job, broke and on the street... As for credability goes I never said all vets are trust worthy and have integrity and I too have met some pretty nasty service members, But I would trust a Vet, police officer, fireman, paramedic etc first over your general populous anyday... Signing up for a services like above shows alot more intestinal fortitude than your average joe whos looking out for numero uno. Do I think he could have a better system than just emails? Yes, but in his situation where its a hobby and that he gets joy for helping others out with there performance needs while trying to spend time with his family and supporting them in other ways, I see why he only chooses emails... The reason I said who and what he supports is to just let everyone know he is a patriotic red blooded American who cares about us. Also, I wasn't saying vets are better than others and he takes extra care of them, Its just IMO easier to trust and deal with persons and help others who have put others first and have made sacrafices to save and keep others safe... It's not stirring the pot or who can piss the farthest... I just understand how one can have other priorities and does what he does out of passion when one doesn't have to do it... There are plenty of happy customers and with any side business there will be unhappy ones... No need to throw someone under the bus for all to read, and as far as I know he has not intentially given a bad tune and has always been great in trying to keep all who uses him happy... Everyone forgets and everyone makes mistakes and he wont get disgruntal if you email him more than once if it takes too long and there are plenty of more options out there... Bottom line is just choose who you're happy with and give people a chance to correct their wrongs if you beleive you were wronged... With a little patience comes great reward, especially in a society that wants instant gratification...

  6. Just noticed on the preferred vendors Wheatley performance is no longer listed. Anybody know what's up?

He doesnt give out his phone number... I have always had good fast responses... I talk to him all the time through email and facebook... He is a busy man who has another job and a big family... I don't blame him for not giving out his number, I wouldnt either if it was a side job and not my full time job... Now if he tuned full time as a career I would expect him to have a shop phone at least.... He told me he wasn't going to support this site anymore about 4 months ago... The main reason was people bashing eachother all the time and the family attitude went away... Plus to many people wanted free retunes with a vehicle they purchased from someone else and then talked crap about him and other tuners on this site and other sites...( dont get mad at me this is what I was told) If your tune is not right don't cry about just tell him and he will tune it right... I know Charlie and he is a great man and a God fearing Patriot. He takes care of us veterans and loves America and our rights and 2nd amendment... With myself who has proudly served 9 years in the USMC he has shown me the upmost respect and thankfullness and in return I am grateful... It may sound like I am defending him but this is all my personal experience and I'd love to see any of you have a full time job, be a full time daddy and husband, take care of hundreds if not thousands of customers on the side calling 24/7, and try to find time for a little R&R... He is the kind of guy that will go above and beyond for you but just like me, if you screw me over I wont lift a finger until absolutley necessary... I know Zippy is a great man too but I havnt had any personal conversations with him besides a phone chat one time. So I cant speak for him... If you dont have nothing nice to say dont say it...

  7. I am looking at leasing a chevy cruze for $250 a month for a DD that gets 38mpg... DD's dont have to be fancy and good looking or have all the featurs and big power... I put all that money into my SSS :)

  8. Nice my first was a high point auto 45

High point--- :puke: .... With all the negatives of being heavy, bulky, uncomfortable, etc... They shot reliably... I would suggest it for a first gun as they are very inexpensive but put the warning lable up that they are not pretty and all that is mentioned in last sentence....

  9. Nice to see ya from Superior... I go to Duluth a few times a year to visit my best friend... I plan on taking The Ole' SSS to the Garfield AVE. Drags this summer and getting me one of them there trophies they got there uhhhum... LOL Hope to see you around sometime this summer... I also plan on getting down to BIR a couple times this summer on Wednesday night street legal test and tune

  10. Looks like you're pretty close to Duluth and Superior Cody... We should hook up sometime in Duluth or BIR in Brainard for a test and tune on Wednesday nights... I live about an 1.5hrs away from Brainard and Duluth.... I have a good friend that lives in Duluth that I visit once in awhile...

  11. Yea... I thought $450 was high when I bought mine and struggled pulling the trigger... I am glad I did because I would have never bought one for more than $500 let alone $800-$1000 Thats a Cam job < LOL... Or a nitrous Kit.... But to each there own and they do look awesome on the trucks all painted up...

  12. My bad ^ It's hard to pick up the sarcastic tone over a keyboard haha... I guess I didn't put the two post together LOL

But in my defense there has been alot of newbs and dumb questions and stories being asked and told these days, I just forgot that it came from a senior memeber that should know better... If i would have taken the split second to look at who I was responding too I wouldnt have said anything unless for some reason you made it clear your serious LOL

  13. I am sure people will chime in... The site has been pretty dead these days and people usually dont drop by but once or twice a week... Id give it until Sunday night to get interest otherwise just pull the plug.... I got one of the last shirts and love it, even though for an XL its more like a L... LOL... I am sure there is alot of interest for them still just like that stupid poster that went for so much money hahaha

BTW- looks like 5 had sold already :)

  14. Nice times, but I am confused....Stock SS trucks beat lightnings all the time, and yours is modded. :jester:

Didn't you read his message? LOL He had her beat until the end she walked past him...You are 100% corrrect stockish SSS's beat lightnings all the time, Just not in the 1/4mile... In the 1/8th and stop light to stop light yes... We have the all wheel drive advantage and roughly the same amount of TQ... If they had there track tires on and hook up it would be tough to beat them with bolt ons, but who runs slicks everywhere they go lol... my .02

BTW, nice run Randy... You got an awesome start to a wicked ride once that TVS slides its way under your hood
