  3. I just ripped my front drivers seat!!!!! Small tear, do they make replacment covers or do I have to get it repaired?
  4. They make light weight hood springs for fiberglass hoods fyi
  5. I'm waiting for mine too!!!! Shipping cost sux
  6. I belive I got the rocker info off of ls1 tech. I could be wrong but there is a lot of very fast and reliable setups on there using the stock rockers. Sorry Dan if the info I gave you was wrong. If your going to spend any money on rocker arms go with yt of jesel. I have never had a failure with the jesel's on my bbc. They are one of the best rockers bar none. pricy though. For your setup Dan You will be fine. This is a quote from a engine builder on ls1 tech..... "We use the stock rocker arms on our shop car engine 7800rpm shift points and 1154rwhp" So Dan you should be fine. Also they say that the gains are only wirth 2-4 hp with yt not a big gain for the $$$$$
  7. Dan, i'm not trying to spend your money I just think for the price and peace of mine replacing the timing chain and sprockets isn't that much. Going with the stock rockers is a great idea. They are lighter and if you do the bearing upgrade you will have a bulletproof valve train. Are you doing the heads at the same time? If you are, are you keeping the same thickness head gasskets? are the heads milled? These are things to think about cause of the lifter preload. If anything changes you might need to change the pushrod length. When are you planing to do this swap? Sounds like a good time I want in on the install. Harland Sharp Bearing Upgrade There are many fast cars with this upgrade.
  8. Dan, I would replace it while your in there. What you have to consider is the higher valve spring pressure and the new cam will be more aggressive. Comp Cams and others have single timing chains with the billet gears.
  9. Not trying to get people going just wanted to say that the site can be used for better things then calling each other names. I have used this site to gather all kinds of helpfull information and also give it when I can. I love the site and just want it to keep being a great site and not have the site get a bad name for itself. There is a great bunch of friends from all over the world on here and we all have different opinions but were on here for the same reason we love GM trucks. So... I feel better now.
  10. With that king of mileage you would be better off with a tranny freshing and shift kit, servos and a stall
  11. So since I have more time on my hands I've been spending more time on the site. I've noticed some really bad attitudes and not so nice remarks on here. What really tripped me off was the simple question of the tb bypass thread. zippy had to lock it cause of such argueing. Come on now that's not what the site is all about. If you don't have something nice to say or good advice to add then just keep to yourself.
  12. Definitley true Vidal, I thought for some reason you are going to school for law enforcement or something related to that? If so you should mention that to the cop and become freinds with them. I have been lucky once, was going 85 in a 65 but the state policeman saw the police antenna on my truck (from the original owner). I was in the fast lane, moved into the middle lane and waved at me when we were side by side on the 3 lane highway, then he floored his crown victoria with a smile and raced away. I think he wanted a part of the SS Should of given him a piece of it! LOL
  13. That's a great Idea. I am a heavy equipment mechanic. John Deere certified, 26 years in the business.
  14. Well as most of you know I was laid off from my job 10 days before Christmas. Being that I had a compny truck for almost 20 years I never really needed a dd. Now that I need on to go find a job the fastest thing I could of done was to go buy a dd but..... seeing I had the engine and tranny out of the sss I deceided to put the stock engine back in and install the new tranny that I built with my new circle d converter. I am happy i went this way. Not that I want to drive this in the snow sometines we have to do things that we dont want to. Anyway.... She runs great and i enjoy driving my truck again. I drove up to the machine shop and poked my head in to say hi and to look at my new 408 sitting there. They have worked with me and i am very happy with them. Hopefully soon I will find a job and be able to get back on track with my build. I want to give a shout out to Danny aka sprayed99 for some tech advise on my tranny build. I'll keep you all posted on my build.
