I'm wondering if anybody has aftermarket speakers in their door panels and has them showing or if everybody just replaced the mesh covers... I want to leave mine showing and fabricate a trim of some sort... I'm thinking of a painted black trim covering the slot that the old speaker covers mounted through... does anybody have ideas on what the easiest way would be to do that and what I should use? Back when I first installed the sound system, I tried to cut wholes in the mesh cover so the speaker grille and tweeter would protrude a little, but it looked tacky... I greatly appreciate the help

lol... well my gf is from Kansas City, Missouri and she's been talkin' about us movin' over there so she can go to RN school... That's starting to sound like a real good idea especially if I can have some dynatechs and still be street legal... I'm going to see if I know anybody that will pass me even if I have the dynatechs.. maybe I can slip them a little extra cash on the side ... I just really want to help my supercharger breath better... does anybody know where I can get some long tube headers and high flow cats for the best possible price??

Do you have any advice on which direction I should go then? Are there any short headers that would be worth buying? High flow cats are probably illegal out this way too then huh?

lol... yes unfortunately I do... I love it here but the laws here prevent alot of creativity when trying to make your truck a one off custom... I should have stayed in Dallas which I lived in for about a year until someone had to be a hater and shoot me and the truck... It seemed like you could do alot more custom mods out in TX... maybe i will return someday... we'll see

I'm really wanting to get some long tube headers... are there any that are 50 state legal? Most of the ones i've seen when doing searches are only for off road use and i'm guessing I won't pass emissions testing if they say that... if there are some 50 state legal ones can somebody let me know who makes them or if not what my alternative is?? Hey I did my door panels in black on black gucci material and i've been wanting to replace the carpet on the bottom section too... what tool did you use to get the carpet out?

I can't really tell you why, but I'm sure someone on here can. All I know is I've been wondering the same thing since I got my 05. I'm saving up for posi rear end and disc brakes cuz I hate them too . My truck is just a 1500 so i guess it wasn't exclusively on SS's. Only thing I can think of is maybe drums are cheaper cuz they sure as hell don't work or look better.

that's bad@ss.... I can't wait for them to come out... i only have 3,800 left until the truck is paid off and then hopefully that'll be my next ride... I'm pretty much just like you except I didn't build one; my lady bought me the RC camaro and I painted the top half gloss black along with the rims and left the bottom half silver. I also blacked out all the lights... I'll post some pics later so you can tell me what you think cuz if I do get one I'm thinkin that's how i'll make it look... anywayz good job!!!!!!!!

I really would like to attend of these .. if not this one, definitely in the summer when i'm out of school... my lady and I can stay with one of her friends in Orange County... I'll keep an eye on this thread and hopefully I can make it out that way... I'm down for whatever cuz i'm from up in the Bay Area and don't know that area too well... My truck isn't an SS, but you guys don't care about that do you???

thats down here in SoCal, it's in Riverside county about a 45-1hr from LA... -Rob oh ok... do ya'll get together alot?? My lady was living down there before she moved up to the Bay with me and I could time a visit to her friends around the time you guys get together

i think the truck looks great man.... I would say adding that gunmetal color throughout the truck would really compliment the wheels... maybe powdercoat the grille and SS badges, powdercoat door handles with red painted buckets, and possibly redo the bowtie in that color... all in all the new wheels are nice addition IMO not only for the looks but their practicality as they are lighter than stock.... i'm thinkin about getting a charcoal grey 09 camaro and having gunmetal wheels or have you ever seen black chrome? here's an example:

Thanks alot bro.... when I first purchased the front bumper I had plans to put billet in the opening, but when I got my supercharger I liked how the intercooler shows in the opening displaying what's under the hood if people can't tell by the distinct whine... after I repaint my front bumper I will post some pics.. As for the third brake light I had planned to tint it also, but used two whole cans on my tails getting them so be so dark... I think I will tint it tho in the future, but I might get arrested out here in the Bay area because the cops already hate me as they have pulled me over numerous times for the blacked out look... lol.. if i had my way I'd have limo tint all the way around and every last part would be blacked out... oh well cops suck

definitely powder coat them with gloss black... you already have the whole black out scheme going and i think it will look great if you keep it consistent throughout the whole truck

i took off my side steps and i think it looks 100% better ... while i was at it i deleted my antenna... i checked out the extremely long post about deleting the antenna and i will visit the local dealership to see if i can purchase the piece without the hole... these are the only pics i have so far.. i'm heading to Dallas this weekend so when i get back i can try and post some better ones
