  1. thanks mike. ya my dad is involved. he has help quite a bit. as far as everything with the tahoe my wife is doing it all. and doing a pretty good job aswell. it def. is a pain trying to help via phone and email. but it will all work out im sure. hows everything at your casa? the new truck still doing good? ill send you an email in the next few days. later gary
  2. the only problem is im over here. so its the wife doing all the talking. as of right now she said they could do $22k out the door including sales tax and fees. thats still $2k under nada value. i agree its not a smokin deal. but the things is like new. she said it looks like its never even been driven. my family has owned a few of this body style suv so she is familiar with what should be what. so we will see. still trying to get everything straight with the old loan. gary
  3. the trailblazer wheels are now available in the silverado bolt pattern. i think you can get them in the next few weeks. so now its more of if the offsset will work. the company making them is factory reproductions. good luck. gary
  4. i say keep the truck buy another one and then rebuild this one with a new frame and oilpan. then you can go as crazy as you want to on it. and still have another truck to drive everyday. glad to hear you walked away. seems like alot of people are getting in wrecks lately. atleast you can salvage alot from the truck. good luck. gary
  5. Insurance called yesterday. The car is totaled, as if there was any doubt. I found an 05 tahoe LT fully loaded. factory nav and rear entertainment, everything. 65k miles and theyre asking $21k. she is going up there today to see what they can do. our friend had surgery yesterday and found that the knee cap was broken in half and one of the halves was broken in 5 pieces but they got everything fixed that they needed, and theyre both doing good just really sore still. thanks guys. gary
  6. Thanks guys. I agree they were both lucky. The wife just got a boob job a few weeks ago, so I'm glad the seatbelt didnt do any damage!!! Especially before i even get to see them. Her friend is having surgery in the morning and will be out for 6-8 weeks. They have to put in some pins and screws in to hold things together. Sounds painfull. Later Gary
  7. what finishes did they deside to start with? i hope with in the nest year i can pickup a set of charcoal grey ones. later gary
  8. Well, I'm in Iraq and she sends me an email that said call me asap. I've told her before not to send that if its not a real emergency. So i call her and her friends mom answers. Apparently some chick pulled out in front of them from a side street and they T-boned her. The wife just got banged up pretty good, but her friend has a broken knee cap from the dash!! Thank god my daughter wasnt in the car. They were probably going about 40mph. The EMT's said their seatbelt and airbags saved them. On the bright side we wanted to get rid of her car for a tahoe or suburban. Just didnt plan on anyone getting hurt for it to happen. My dad drove down to bring the SSS for her to drive and went and looked at the car. he said the aluminum cradle is wrinkled really bad and the left frame rail wrinkled all the way back to the firewall. But their both doing good now probably just going to be sore for the next few days. later gary
  9. when i went there in january we ate at Ruths Chris Steakhouse (sp?) it was awesome! we stayed at the tropicana. a bit pricey but pretty cool location. have fun! gary
  10. i do believe that was at sema this year. rear wheels are just a bit to big for me but i love the stance.
  11. looks good. i agree the stripes are a nice touch.
  12. i thought the 4l80e was essentially a TH400 with overdrive. Thats why it was only put behind the bigger engines and trucks much like the th400 was back in the day. So its the same upgrading to the 4l80e from 4l60e as we used to do with the th350 and th400. but if you arent making tons of power those bigger internals will cost you some rwhp. later. gary
  13. USAF Vehicle Operator/Dispatcher soon to be OSI Agent
  14. well even a totally stock truck will benifit from a custom tune. better performance, increased mpg's(as long as you can keep your foot out of it ) i dont think there is an actual negative aspect to tunning a truck no matter what the total or current mods are. good luck. gary
  15. hey mike ill take the seat switch panels. they seem to break often and i think my buddy might need one. let me know. gary
  16. ive always had good luck with red top's. my truck i just sold to my brother has had the same one for 4 or 5 years no problems. same with my s10. the s10 sits for months on end. it doesnt have anything that draws on it so it fires up everytime. but im sure everyone has their own opinion on what they like. gary
  17. it does suck getting your truck stolen. lucky for me when my old blazer was stolen i was trying to sell it and i broke even with the insurance. when me silverado got broke into i lost my a$$ on the system. i have yet to put another one in. i dont know what id do if my SS got stolen. they better be fast cause i sleep light and with a nice smith and wesson M&P with their name on it. sorry to hear about all these truck getting stolen. hope everything works out. gary
  18. i was thinking the same. i guess the military needs to give us a bigger pay raise next year! what kind of timeline are you planning for the ss chase? im sure not soon enough. gary
  19. sick. just plain sick. both trucks are nothing short of basa$$. love the black emblems on the dmax. is the backup cam in the tailgate handle surround factory? if so, thats pretty cool. gary
  20. welcome. good looking truck. this site has tons of great info if you want to mod your truck or just maintain it. gary
  21. i do believe it uses some type of chain drive to each wheel. and the rest is just alot of hydraulics. either way its bada$$ and takes major skill to fab something like this. gary
  22. if its just the compressor in a plastic squarish case like mine. i mounted it just under the drivers seat close to the inside of the framerail. been there in all sorts of seasons for 6+ years and still going strong. hope this helps. gary
