Must not mean in this vehicle. 'Cause we all know how slow it is.

Actually bought from a member on the site that doesn't get on here very much anymore. Goes by J & J motorsports. Took his last one. I may go by a shop and see if they can duplicate before I stick to the window. That way if I ever loose my windshield for some reason, I'll have an extra. I'll let you know if I do.
-
Richard - thanks. I have one to put on, just haven't gotten to it yet. Just wondered if ours was diff.
-
Richard - does your windshield SS sticker have tinting with it, or just a stand alone SS sticker?

I think you guys have trouble only because you just like pushing buttons. Is it only the old guys having this problem. Seems to be.

Just like saying "atm machine", or a thousand others. I'm in the military, I'm used to repetitiveness and redundancies!

Yeah, to keep idiots like me out of trouble. The wife had to come by work and get me in the truck after I removed the wire. After owning a 99'GMC that had the same protection, and never once needing it - I disconnect the protection and lock myself out no more than 48hrs later. Damn the luck!

One last thing on removing the wire and getting rid of the chime. What I didn't realize, although eluded to in someone's input, is that you actually "can" lock the key in the ignition now. Ordinarily, the driver's door will not lock with the key in the ignition. Removing the wire takes away the chime, but also takes away the idiot protection. So, like everything else I guess, it's a trade-off.

Before anyone goes and tries this, check to see if you can access the connector before disassembly of any of the panels. Great job by dcairns in putting the step-by-step together, but I didn't need to remove anything but the connector. I went to my truck with a jeweler's screwdriver, pair of needle nose pliers (to pull wire out), and a roll of electrical tape and was done in less than three minutes. I didn't remove any panels and was able to access the plug from underneath. Too easy!
