  1. i was pondering the idea of getting different rims for my truck. i wanted to see what these rims are going for to see if its worth me getting new ones. These are the 03 ss rims in excellent condition....no curb rash, chips, nicks scratches or anything. they are flawless! these are not the chrome ones they are the ones that look like brushed nickel. they are also the aluminum ones obviously. i will try and post pics asap but wanted to see who was in the market to buy these b/c i not going to buy new ones unless i have a buyer.

  2. i have a 03 silverado ss with all the bolt ons...full exhaust, cai, underdrive pullies, shift kit, vette servo, i just bought a torque converter that the stall will be between 2500-2800. what is the best transmission cooler that will work for this?? i dont want to spend $120 on a real serious one unless i need it. i just want the best bang for my buck. can the guy even make the 2500-2800 stall?? he said he would have to change some of the internals to get this stall. is this a good stall?? its a daily driver that i would only do minor towing with. he recommended the 2300-2500 stall but i know alot of you guys recommended higher. thanks in advance.

  3. I am sorry you guys if i keep asking stuff about this i just want to be sure i get all the parts and do it right the first time. Now my truck has these current mods... zex plugs, msd wires, s and b cold air intake, underdrive pullies, obx long tube headers no cats, magnaflow true dual exhaust and wheatley tuned. Now i am going into the transmission to put my new transgo hd2 reprogramming kit in it. This is my daily driver/work truck so i was told converter wise i would gain from having one put in but no more than like a 2400-2600 stall. Is this true? also along with the transgo kit it came recommended that i buy the vette servo which i believe is for the 2 and 4 gears. Now should i get the billet overdrive servo or will this not be worth it or work with the transgo kit???? I am not racing this thing around so i dont need it to be crazy bulletproof with no money in my wallet but if something has to be done while i am in there and it's not too hard to do i would like to do it while its all apart. z pack clutches were also talked about but is it even worth it?? this truck only has 50,000 on it. like i said i dont need overkill i just want it to be fun to drive but also reliable. The sunshell was also said to be really weak in these trannies. Is this really hard to do or is that just somebody wanting me to give him alot of money to fix all these parts? I had a 05 ram with the hemi and i had all my current mods along with the transgo shift kit and torque converter and didnt do anything else tranny wise and it ran excellent, no problems and was quick as hell. all info is appreciated and if you recommend something if you could tell me the part number or where i can get it i would greatly appreciate it. also when i am doing the shift kit/torque converter what is the best fluid i can put back in the tranny and how many quarts do you think i will need? thanks again in advance.

  5. Thanks Mr. P I appreciate all your help with this issue. I will order the vette servo today. As for the converter if i change it where do you think i be stall range? Is the 2600 good enough? also how exactly does this work? Do you only notice when powerbraking or do you notice it under WOT without powerbraking or anything? also if i do change the converter should i go with a better tranny cooler or is the stock one sufficient? I didnt want to dump a whole lot of money into the truck as i already have with all the other mods but i do want to get alot of bang for my buck. I did find a cheap converter on ebay and was wondering if this was sufficient for a daily driver as i am not going to be drag racing this thing besides getting on it at a couple lights or racing one of my buddies here and there. this is the link for the converter... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/200R4-7004R...sQ5fAccessories

As for brakes I should be ok for now i recently put on powerbrakes cross drilled rotors with ceramic pads and they seem to be holding up alright for now.

    Anyone????

  6. WRONG - Can't believe the Transgo guy told you this, the Transgo HD2C kit will not work right without the 'Vette servo, you need to buy one, check eBay they're available all over for $20. If you use the stock servo an aftermarket billet servo then there will be timing issues introduced with application of second which will have to be addressed/tweaked (speaking from experience).

That is his opinion; for hot street performance a 2600-3000 converter will really wake up the truck, even with stock motor. I installed a TCS 2800 in my truck with stock motor, Corsa, Transgo, and tune and got 1.9 60' times and 14.1 in the quarter-mile with very little penalty in driveability, and that is a pretty loose converter. Some of the best daily driving trucks I know have a 2600-2800 converter; make sure you get a QUALITY one, there are a lot of crappy converters out there, do your research.

Looks like you've got the basics covered on the drivetrain. Converter would be a big ticket item worth considering. I would also put money in brakes if you want to keep the truck long term.

    Mr. P. :)

  7. i recently bought the transgo hd2 reprogramming kit. I called transgo and asked if there was anything else i should get for the truck while i was putting this in. I see alot of you guys put the corvette servo in and the guy from transgo said that our trucks come with this stock. Is this correct or do i need to get one? If so where is the cheapest place to find one? I also asked about changing the torque converter and he said not to do it b/c my truck is a daily driver. I have the obx long tubes, dual magnaflow exhaust, underdrive pullies, zex spark plugs, summit performance wires, s and b cold air intake, wheatley tune, and now i will be putting this in. Is there anything else i should be doing tranny wise while its apart? I dont race this thing around, just at a red light or two here and there. I want this thing to last and to be able to be rode hard when needed. any info would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

  8. Part numbers:

    Sway Bar Bushing 9.5172R (Red).

    End Links 9.8121 (Red).

i had a question about these part numbers hopefully you guys could help me. the 9.5172 are confirmed by energry suspension...they are for the 1 1/4" sway bar. now the end links i got two different answers. The guy said that i need the 9.8149 which the end links are for 4 1/4", but i heard guys on this forum saying that we need the 9.8121 which is for the 4 1/2" end links. he said that it would make a difference even if its off by 1/4". Now my ss is the stock ride height, the only suspension upgrade are my bilstein shocks. which set do i need does anyone know for sure. this whole sway bar bushing ordeal has taken me almost a week now of talking to autozone, energy suspension and a speed shop. thanks again in advance.

  9. i have a 2003 silverado ss and am looking into putting the energry suspension front sway bar bushings in it (end links with the other sway bar ones). nobody has a part number and they can t even figure it out! i thought we had 1 1/4" sway bars but not sure (i thought stock 4x4 1500's had the 1 1/8"). does anyone have a part number for this kit. if nothing will fit i wont try to rig anything i just want to upgrade this if it is possible. thanks in advance.
