  1. heres some pics of my install NOTE that there is a dimple on your fire wall below one of the original bolt holes (bottom right) you have to drill that out for the new bolt location the other 3 are fine and the new location for the hydro booster is a little higher than the original i had to grind the top of the hole that the booster is inserted into by 1/4 of an inch other than that easy as pie until we got to the PS pump that was a pain in the ass but worth the effort

  2. these are the part numbers for the hoses the return line on the top of the booster the barbed fitting is just a normal low pressure line nothing fancy but heres the part numbers auto zone will only have 2 of these line the other like i said you can just make nothing fancy

    15804952 - hose

    15295853 -hose

    15295840 - Hose

15734409 - Brake Pedal (get this at the dealer) paid i think 75$ for mine

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-06-TAHOE...es#ht_500wt_956 the link for the booster 110$ best deal your gonnafind on a new one this where i bought mine

  3. Try over on pt.net. There are a few guys over there that have done that mod.

all you need is the lines from autozone they are under power steering lines get the ones for a escalade 2003 and you can either t into the return line for the pump or buy a new one the only difference is the new pump will have two return ports you can get both high pressure lines from autozone for like 70$ and you want to order the hydro boost for the escalde and you will need an escalade brake pedal also shouldnt be hard to find any of these parts and thats it any more questions let me know because i did a hydro boost on mine and its awsome the stopping power is night and DAY

  4. you wont regret it if you did step up to HPT

im sure i wouldnt i just feel like im so close with the diablo like i said the diablo actually does more than some people think it will shouldnt be grouped with other handhelds lol just have to be familiar with it i mean so far the truck runs really good pulls really hard and smooth its just this little bit of dialing in thats giving me trouble

  5. i was just b/sing on youtube and saw this ok burban with a bad ass whipple setup on it i had the same charger at one point but have never seen anyone mount it on the opposite side and use it with a air2water cooler i personally like it those chatrgers are 2.3 liters by the way what do you all think

  6. Actually doesn't look bad at all to do. I say go for it. I would put the control switches where the pocket is next to the air vent on the driver side.

If you have some fab skills and don't mind take the dash cover off and cutting into it, then do it.

i dont have a pocket on my truck being 01 i think we have different dash's my truck came with a tape player im going to glass it smooth and try and mount controls for it there

  7. Yeah I hear ya for sure, that is really holding your tahoe back and costing you a fortune in fuel too I'm sure. I would never have guessed your rig was 4-6 psi that often.

Can you modify the PE delay or ramp-in rate with the Diablo?

yes but then it also affects WOT PE so if i ramp it or delay it i run lean until it kicks in so thats why i was wondering how and the hell people are tuning radix's ive got the 3in pulley and it makes boost all day long barely giving it gas lol

  8. I cannot see "cruising" at over 4psi boost; I know this is a loose comparison, but I've got a Eaton on my car (2000 Buick GS) and there are times when I am climbing a steep-ass hill I will have my foot in it and show 1-2 psi boost, but any more toe in the throttle and the blower goes to max boost, I've never been able to make the car cruise at 4, 5, or 6 psi. So to me, anything above 4-psi you are calling for max motor effort IMO. It is very common to run 12.2:1 on non-FI motors at WOT (0-boost) and bring in 11.8:1 PE at 4-psi; on turbos where boost builds explosively fast the tuner will bring in PE at 2psi.

The problem with the strategy you are using (changing AFR as RPM climbs) is that idea only works with centrifugal blowers, and only at WOT even in that case. With a Radix on your motor, when you are driving 1800-rpm and stab the throttle you instantly get full boost and that boost (ideally) stays constant as the motor revs upwards to redline, SO on that application as soon as you nail the pedal you need to bring in PE right away no matter what RPM the motor is at because the Radix (and turbos) give max boost right away. OTOH with a centrifugal at 1800-rpm I hit the gas pedal and get NO boost, because the belt-driven compressor isn't turning fast enough - as RPM climbs though the boost will begin to build in a linear fashion and this is the advantage of a Paxton/Procharger/Vortech over a Radix, the faster the motor turns the more boost you get PERIOD whereas the Radix the amount of air supplied is relatively fixed so you are constantly fighting the problem of the motor "outbreathing" the blower and boost falling. What this all means for fueling strategy is that with a Radix and turbo application you must base your AFR on the MAP reading, not the RPM reading - as the MAP changes you need the AFR to change because you can make BIG torque with a Radix off idle and that requires PE at a low RPM.

    Mr. P.

i have no problem getting PE to come in that quick i have it set up so that PE kicks in at 55% throttle right now so if i punch it at a red light it has no problem nailing 11.8 through every gear the problem is i can make as much as 8psi of boost in fourth gear with out flooring it and with out down shifting and using that PE table it gets rich as hell when its not seeing as much boost as WOT or even if im just cruising around town and i give it 50% throttle i can see between 4-6psi and using the same PE table that gets me 11.8 at WOT gets me 10.0-10.6 my engine doesnt like that much lol see with the diablo i can choose how much throttle it takes to go into PE and also what rpm gets PE i have mine set at idle on up because it doesnt actually hit PE until i give it the 55% throttle i just dont like that i cant run two PE tables one for partial throttle and one for WOT

  9. Are you using HPT or EFILive? I am using EFILive, and they have a custom PCM operating system you can use (version 3) and it will do what you want to a point... you can absolutely control AFR up to 105kpa/0-boost (non-boost VE table) then tell the PE to activate at 120kpa; you can set it up so that at at 105kpa/0-boost the AFR is 12.2:1, and then the PE AFR be 11.8:1 coming in at 120kpa (4-psi boost). That will be my fueling strategy after I am done VE mapping... Also remember to address your spark timing, it may have to be retarded in a couple places where you trim the AFR back a bit.

Performance-wise, I've noticed on my truck that AFR in the 10's is WAY too rich, the truck does not like that at all; 11.8:1 seems to be the richest I can run and not notice the engine performance falling off like a stone. 12.5:1 seems to be the 'crispest' performance on the stock cam/heads.

    Mr. P. :)

Sorry just re-read you have the Diablo - I would sell it and get EFILive; I know it's expensive but you would really get a lot out of it. Another option is to call Justin Gadberry (Blackbear) or Wait4Me Performance or any of the other really seasoned EFILive tuners out there and hire them to remotely tune the truck with a the EFILive custom OS #3.

i think i can do what your talking about with the diablo just works a little different goes by throttle percentages and rpm's 400 rpm increments and i still think 11.8 is really rich for partial throttle and 4psi of boost or am i wrong?? it just makes sense to me that at partial throttle and at low boost there isnt as much stress on the engine? i personally would like to see 12.5 at partial throttle and medium boost and then 11.8 at WOT

  10. i agree with you guys but i have what i have for the time being and so far i have done quite a bit with the diablo probably alot more than people think it will do lol so with what i have should i just tune for a dead stop WOT and just deal with the partial throttle PE being too rich im with you mr p when im only in partial throttle and my A/F is 10.6 my truck doesnt like that very much

  11. Depends on your engine and the components you have. If its stock I would depend on hopes and prayer to keep the engine together. How are you tunned are you running a custom operating system. you want to be in PE as soon as you go into boost, but ramp it in as boost and throttle increases

magnacharger 5.3 about 12psi of boost the problem with ramping the PE is that from a dead stop your now lean im tuning with a diablo and with factory ecu only having one PE mode it seems that i can either tune it for dead stop WOT i just dont like how rich it is when im in lets say 4th gear and i give it 50% throttle it gets rich as sh%T and occasionally makes valves chatter because its so rich is there a solution for this or do i have to decide to tune it for dead stop WOT or a drive tune???

  12. Thought about it, but isn't worth the work when I can just look down at the cluster

And only thing I can think of too make it easier is to get the wire codes for what wire is which and lots and lots of beer

ive read alot about it supposedly only need to hook up 6 wires and it working the hard part is gonna be making it fit and also look good in my dash im up for the challenge and if i decide not to do it i will sell it for more than i paid for it ive seen then going for 400-600 on ebay got mine for 200 with every piece needed

  13. The term you are looking for is Power Adder.

    10:1-12:1

No i definately meant power enrichment its the mode the ecu goes int when a desired amount of throttle is applied and doe it really have to be that rich and is there a way to have the best of both worlds 11.8 at WOT but 12.5 or so at partial throttle does it really need to be that rich when your not flooring it and just making a little boost?

  14. Ive been struggling with this lately and was wondering what PE throttle position percentage other guys with magnachargers are running? The next question is what should my a/f ratio be at partial throttle 50-75% into the boost 5-8lbs between 2.5k and 4k just normal acceleration well for me atleast? it seems like if i put my PE at 45 or 50% to give it a little more fuel when im in boost it gets too rich and i cant seem to find a happy medium my WOT PE is good its just the partial throttle stuff that is pissing me off.
