  1. well it really come down to a good tune on how much boost/power your stock block will take. i ran 10psi on my stock motor for one summer and it was blowen up. but got another 6.0 and i have ran it for 2 years on 13 psi and a few bottle of no2 and its loving it. no problems what so ever. my first motor went down cause of local tuner and now my truck is tuned by nelson with zero issues.

Glad to hear nelson worked for you i still have nightmares about dealing with them

  2. I am having a hard time finding a price i should ask for the truck. Can someone give me rough price est...

I think you could ask 18k and it would sell for that much more and it will take a while to sell

  3. Why are so many turbo kits sold under 1000 miles? Just not good or a lot of problems or what? Just wondering because I'm looking into get a kbracing turbo kit.

Because lots of people get boost happy and push there stock engines farther than they should and break them. And usually have the sell there kits in order to put new engines in there trucks.

  4. :squintnoeswerdrun: Yup Yup.

As NORCAL told you, you've got two choices - spindles + drop keys, or the DJM CalMax lower control arms; I have the McGaughy's spindles + drop keys and hate them, truck looks bitchin but the ride is super firm and worst thing is when traveling over rough pavement the truck steers itself, the bumpsteer is really bad and you don't steer it as much as you 'herd' it over uneven ground. Do yourself the favor, spend the extra 300-bones and do it right and get the CalMax control arms.

    Mr. P. :)

Could be an alignment issue i have same spindles with turned torsion bars with 24's on both trucks they ride great and i do my own alignments

  5. I won two plane tickets to anywhere in the u.s.a. , however it said continental so assuming i can only do the 48 ( may be able to upgrade) . i also won a nice hp dekstop computer with a 19 widescreen monitor that still sitting in the box. Im lookinf on a good place for me and the old lady to go. we have not done much traveling and are eager to make a trip. right now the top places are new york and miami. i know they are both expensive which isnt a huge deal but i want to have the best time possible. we plan to stay for about 5-7 days. summer or spring is our time we plan to go. I like new york because i know food and hotels are awesome plus i have never been there . im sure i can stay busy for a week.

You might wanna check the rates in for hotels in NY before you go there i go there quite frequently Manhattan im assuming were talking about and sometimes i cant find a room for less than 350$ a night so definately plan way way way ahead lol And Miami is alwasy great i go there a couple times a year good luck and congartulations on the win

  6. I have most of the parts also, but i'd love to hear what others are using for pads from the typical GM pads on up to the good ones, what the going rate is for cost of the pads, and what everyone is using for caliper pins/bolts. I've been searching alot and what i see is the GM pads include the pins and are outrageous at $450-$500 complete set. They want $21 EACH for just the pins if you buy them seperately (28 pins if you use the padlets!) I know there are aftermarket pins so if you have used them, please chime in......Thanks.

Hope this isn't thread hijacking...just seems like it fits in this thread. Any objections, i'll start a new one.

I use the powerstop evolution pads on my tahoe with the z06 swap and ive had 0 issues stop great and there quiet and havent noticed excess brake dust my .02

  7. Just out of curiosity, why do you want to upgrade the pan? You have a 4L65E which already has a deep sump pan, and with your new TruCool trans cooler, there really is no need for a pan that boosts cooling capabilities, unless you are looking for more fluid capacity......

That pan says it adds a little over 2 quarts and it cools and its not that expensive i dont see a down side to getting it

  8. That You Tube video was sweet.. Do u have any final pics.. :pepsicheer:

Nope not yet kinda on the back burner for right now i still have a few panels i need to make to cover up wires and misc stuff i dont want seen and im installing a ton of red led's to light things up at night I just got my new motor dropped and have a few things to do on it before i get back to the system

  9. Love the Q logic form kick panels. I have a set in my truck. Great qualtiy kickpanels. They really bring out the front sound qaulity. Are you going to install deadening material in the roof. I had to cover the whole roof of my truck. The roof metal is so thin it will make a hell of a noise when those 12's hit. LOL When I had the windows up I couldn't tell it, but I noticed when I would let the windows down I could hear something that just wasn't right. Sounded like some one was waving (popping) a thin sheet of metal. Took me a few weeks to figure out what was going on because it would only do it with certain songs. Then it hit me. Rolled the windows down, cranked up the music, got out and looked across the roof and it looked like waves of an ocean. Bingo. Took care off that really quick.

Yes i had to i used fatmat mega mat on my roof its was rattling horribly these subs play extremely low at high levels and it sounded like complete ass cheeks outside the truck but inside you cant hear it over the bass lol

  10. That is a Ford Explorer 302 V8 factory driver side header.

holy shit its reasons like this that ford blows and all there motors have no balls!!!!! I cant believe thats an oem lol

Im willing to bet the 6 has more balls than the 8 after they put those on it lol

  11. You need to size the turbo to your end goals... What are they... do you want big top end, quick spooling, midrange torque... those are all the things that need to be taken into consideration before you can size a turbo. a quick spooling turbo will suffer in the top end but will get a truck moving sooner, i.e. Towing, but a larger, lazier one will make a low compression 370 a dog of the line, but in the upper RPM will absolutely scream.

I dont really have a hp goal and im leaning more towards a midrange turbo setup i do tow with the truck i want to sqeeze all the power i can out of it whil stiull keeping it reliable and fun to drive im leaning towards twin gt-k 550's

  12. It does say that it's not the actual photo and to contact them for the actual pics of it. But those things are terrible. Factory or homemade what was someone thinking when they designed it?

Well the spacing of the bolts is wrong for any type of ls1 but i still cant imagine having that on any type of car of mine atleast lol

  13. i could have gone with more turbo yes . we went with the large a/r to keep these things breathing. the low end is awesome though full boost by 3500 rpm . im not scared of roll racing anymore infact i prefer it until i get the traction under control.

overall im very happy with my build , driveability is near stock and get 16 mpg on the highway.

i drove the truck to a car show 60 miles each way friday night and used just shy of 1/4 tank and got on it a couple times. ive actually already had some offers on the truck ,some for quiet a bit and actually has me thinking . but it would go overseas and i would never see it again.

im going to enjoy the truck for this summer before i break it or anything . its been a long time since ive had it reliable

Thats great to hear man theres lots of people that spen as much as you did and dont like there results!!

what size a/r did you go with and what size wastegates to keep from over spinning them? How much boost do you think you can get out of them? do you think the gtk650 or gtk550's would be a bit much for a 370??
