  1. I know your Perth, just have had some info that has confused me, not on your part. For instance my for instance I remember mentioning my buddy had a WRX STI and his uncle lived in western Australia and according to his unlce those specific vehicles were outlawed as the Aussie Outback police couldnt keep up with them in the outback, unless broken down. But this is second hand info. Anyhow, sick truck man, and glad we have a member from Down Undah! (boston accent)
  2. Yup, just like the others stated. Their would be no point in having an AWD trucks with different awd power transfer ratios unless they had alot of money to screw around with. I havent heard of HSV so please excuse my lack of intelligence. Is it more modified than the stock Avy? I noitced your pic and it looks alot lowered, wether I guess my only question is the avalanche awd front diff work with the SS? Time for Tru-Trac!
  3. Thank you Fireman, every little bit helps. We need to show interest, and Im kinda surprised their hasnt been as much as I thought, even though Im asking about production numbers. I will have to approach the guy about this cat back be used along with the nnbs 6.2 and V-Max.
  4. Anyone? ARH wants to do a new exhaust...need some help guys. Im guessing around 30,000 SS trucks.
  5. 1Bad2K, I tried to PM you this question but said you couldnt recieve anymore messages.Did the service manager mention how much the unit would have costed? And any idea on how long the fix was? Just curious about how much it will cost, I know its not cheap as my mechanic who owns an 04 SS truck and worked for a GM dealership said its not worth the money until more lights go out, as Im not under warranty. Its just so annoying that everything else is pristine, except this one light.
  6. Id buy 4 if this were to start these up again Shawn.
  7. One advantage of not having the digital c/c is that if one of the lights burns out, its stupid how much it costs to fix. A light went out on mine and I thought it would be a simple swap in a light, but no, need to get a whole new unit. PITA.
  8. Now thats a Bad Ass sleeper truck. Nothing fancy or flashy. Real nice man!
  9. I spoke with a company earlier today about a new cat-back exhaust that will go along with their Long Tube Headers. After having a great conversation with one of the guys, his question was "how many Silverado SS' were produced?" I got information from "Big O" in a thread I searched and got the following. "In 2003, the production was: 6,117 Black 2,802 Red 1,103 Blue Making a total of 10,022 Silverado SSs. Final production numbers for the 2004 Model Year of Silverado SS's were: 5098 units" I do know that 05s, 06s and 07s were not kept track of production wise. However, I was hoping we could get some original and new members to help out. I am guessing about 30-40,000 units came out of TecStar being a Silverado SS. I could be way off, but that is the reason I am asking for help from senior members who have some info that a normal Joe like me would not have. I was thinking of giving TecStar a call, but I have no idea if they are still in business as Oshawa shutdown (even though TecStar is owned by Quantum). I also am not sure if this exhaust will be tailored to just our truck like Billy Boat did. We only discussed an exhaust for the Silverado SS. And if so, they would need interest so they dont waste their time and R&D $$$, and not sell only 15-30 exhaust a year. They are interested in this project, and we have a month in idea when to do this exhaust. The other situation is their might not be enough interest or it is agreed that enough SS trucks have magnaflow, Corsa, Flowmaster, etc cat backs that I will bring up the idea that this new cat back could be used also with the V-Max trucks and nnbs trucks with the L92 engine which would create a much bigger market. I appreciate your time reading this information and hope we can get an estimate on some numbers for the Silverado SS, besides from Big O's answer which was very helpfull.
  10. Every dyno run(s) cost different pricing. As far as street tunes Ive contacted 2 locals and their $250. But I will not be going with them. Also found a 3rd LS engine tuner, more expensive than $250 and I would choose him, but I am going with Team Zippy.
  11. Thank you Bob for the clarification. With the news the owners of the site brought forth (possible spy pics of a SS 2014 model) and this video being relatively new on youtube, I thought something was up their sleeve even though the nnbs are just about over with. Was thinking they might be testing a motor, or maybe a new front diff. I really didnt think it was Fastlane at all, even though it has the similar exteriors. We will all see soon, considering what one member said the other day about a new SS truck being painted...
  12. Thats Karma. Its disturbing how no other car stops to help. This dude gets about 20-30 feet of air He probably said "I can see my house from here" -Hot Shots
  13. Lower a Z-71 off road package? Absolute fail....JRock congrats on the new truck!
  14. Im not disagreeing, but Ive spoken with 2 dealership owners (1 is my boss, the other a member) and they said the suspension was the same as every other SS truck....however wikipedia says the Teneco shocks and 2 stage leaf springs create a lower 1" stance like BadAss said and they also have stiffer front stabalizer bar. I would honestly speak to your dealership and get part numbers. Ive brought this question up twice as I would like a 1 inch drop on my truck. If you happen to come across part numbers on the front suspension from the dealer please let me know, Id like to order a set if it is a true lower stance but I dont have VIN for an 06. Good luck!
  15. wheres my popcorn at! Im wondering if this will kill our value on our 1st gen SS trucks....or else its time to sell right now. Then again the awd and an ECSB is needed for me. Thank you DetJoe!
  16. stock tune, mid-high 14s as I baby it on the road, only drive hard to get the tranny to shift quick so it doesnt wear out. Highway is much different, around 17 but I have gotten to 22 on instant mpg's with the awd.
  17. The rear bumper, it should be flush with the rear quarter panels. Looking at the picture, it seems like the bottom of the bumper is not flush with the quarter panel. Like i said, just trying to help no bashing at all. I hear you on the track, I wish we had an airport or something hear to open our trucks up and just them run wild. Theirs a track up here but they only allow supercars on it, last I hear Corvettes werent invited but this was years ago when the SS truck was brand new. Now with the ZR-1 out, Im curious if they allow corvettes now, they should. I just know of a group of guys who own Gallardos, Ferrari F355(?), GT-Rs, Z06, ZR-1, Skyline and one or two I cant remember who just rage their cars in the mountain roads of VT. They have all satelite equipment up to and have other spotter cars for cops. I might be invited this year and bring Ill bring up the rear as Id be the slowest.
  18. I was looking at locking diffs and came across this video. I do not think its a Fastlane as they add the SS emblems. It shows some Gm or Chevy paperwork also in the window. So what do you guys and gals think?
  19. Please check my post in the video section of the 2012 Chevy Silverado SS Concept, shows GM paperwork.
  20. These should help, they made my mind up when a mod/tuner showed me these videos and Im doing the mod this fall. And in this video it compares a Red truck without Detroit Tru-tracs and the Black truck with front and rear Tru-tracs.
  21. Repost, but great commercial.
