I have a 03 arrival blue SSS and I am trying to paint my engine covers to match my EXT paint job as close as I can. I don't have A paint gun so i'm looking for as close of a match as I can get in a rattle can. I found some at the hobby shop thats a super close match but its in small cans and it has the crappy old round nozzles. I really like the dupli-color paints and have had very good results with them but they don't make my paint code in a spray can. Maybe has anyone else found another dupli-color paint that is a close enough match to use for this? It doesn't have to be a prefect match but I do at least want it pretty close.

chevy needs to drop the duracrap and invest in cummins motors for their trucks. A chevy 3500 with a 6.7L cummins and an allison transmission would pull the planet off of its axis and live for ever.

not from the same guy but we have a full set of e-bay drilled and slotted rotors and pads on my girls bonneville SSEi and so far they are great. they have been on for almost a year now and the pads still look almost new. for the best parts i recommend EBC rotors and pads. I had a set of EBC dimpled and slotted rotors and green stuff pads on the front of my lincoln and loved them.

My girl and I went pet shopping the other day and wondered into a bird shop here in town. She has always wanted a blue and gold Macaw so we just stopped in to look. The shop had 3 blue and golds in there ranging from 22mo to about 6 yrs old. Then the let out this gorgeous moluccan cockatoo she was 4 yrs old and spent 2 years in a bird show and it VERY smart to thee point she can pick pad locks with her beak and open her cage. We ended up spending most of the day in there holding her and talking to the people in there about the bird. Long story short im gonna have to wait on getting my exhaust and intake for my truck so we can afford to spend $1600 in this bird not including the cage and a play stand. The cage is going to run about $3-500 and a stand will be ~$175. The guy we will get her from is a well known "bird man" that has been in the bird biz for about 25 years and has several big birds at home. He hand raised this bird him self before it went into the show then it started to steel the show so it had to go. his bird is super sweet it likes to stand on your arm and lay its head on your shoulder while you pet it and it will set on your lap and watch tv like a a lap dog. this bird also knows english and russian the guy we are getting it from said her prev owner was russian so when ever the bird gets mad at you it will start talking russian lol. Any one else here have any exp with big birds of this nature? this is not the one we will be getting but it looks just like her.

wow that looks good it kinda looks like something you would see on a proto type car/truck at like a SEMA show to show off the motor.

My cd changer scratches the heck out of the cd's in the 4-6 slots. it looks like something about 1/2" in dia spinning and making contact with the cd surface in a few spots. It is so bad that once the changer does its deed the cd is useless the scratches are very deep and almost all the way around the cd. Any ideas what could be doing this? I can tell when its doing it because it sounds like midgets inside with grinders shaving down my cd's.

If you want a simple to install gauge that can and will tell you anything you want to know about the truck as well as scan for codes look into the aeroforce interceptor gauge. It plugs into the OBD2 port under your dash and takes its readings from your ECU and can display up to 8 gauges in sets of 2 at it cycles through the different gauges you set it to show. the aeroforce will also scan for codes and can erase then as well. why not just start with something bigger? you could sell your 5.3 and put that money into buying something else like the "godley" LS1 motor.

I picked up my blue 03 on 12/30 with 85k on the odo for $15559.35 after TTT before it was 13.9 MSRP on it is 16.9. Mine is bone stock and had very new tires on it with a spray in bed liner i love my truck so good luck with the buy.

Wow this is like dejvu for me I asked just about the same questions about a week ago and I think I even got the same answers from the same guys.

I have the same prob but I can turn on just the back on med heat it it will stay on all day if I want it to but with the back on high or both on even low it works for about 30 secs then goes off.

I know its already been discovered that it is a Denali but just to throw in my $.02 the chrome inside door handles would give it off as well as the dash. I have a older SS (03) but my dash looks nothing like that and I have black inside door handles. Knowing somewhat how the police auctions go I would say he walked away from one with that truck some where under $6-7k but maybe as high as $10k?? Am I at least in the ball park? Its a nice looking truck what ever you paid for it cant wait to see it finished and modded.

lol I guess that would be in order thanks guys for all the help I think that answered about 90% of my questions. The other 5% would be are vette servos big enough for a bolt on SSS or is it worth the few extra bucks for the billet units?

then someone make that post a sticky so it can be found i searched and came up with nothing.

I have a bone stock o3 SSS I would like to get a shift kit for my truck. If I buy just a shift kit does it come with the bigger servos that I need? I know I need a bigger 2nd servo but how about the 4th servo? Are the corvette servos big enough or should I spend the extra few dollars and get billet servos? Which should come first the tune or the shift kit? I plan on getting both hopefully not to far apart so would I be ok getting the shift kit and bigger servos and installing them with out a tune to reprogram the transmission for the bigger servos?

No rugs here but I do have a spray in ryno liner that was in the truck when I got the truck.

My tail gate just got hard to close I have to slam if about 10 times to finely get it to latch and stay up. The springs on the latches seem a little rusty but not that bad I just put a little 3-n-1 oil on them and it did not seem to help any. It feels like its something inside the tail gate with either the handle or the control rods. The gate opens fine every time and the latches seem to work fine by hand. Are the striker posts adjustable like they are on doors? Maybe they just need to be adjusted back a little so that the claw grabs them better?

I was looking through summit racing and saw a throttle body spacer for my truck as well as a velocity stack. The stack is only $34 and the spacer is $44 so they are pretty cheap mods but are they good for anything but a longer mod list? how about the ram air scoops then go behind the pass side "brake duct" is it worth $124

Ok thats what i thought but I was not sure. I'm still a noob to the while SS side of things. the only other chevy V8 ive messed with is a gen 1 350 and a 396 BBC in my buddys NHRA 69 camaro.

ok i guess ill have to take into them and have it checked out i have a 30 day 50/50 warranty on it so they will cover half of the cost to fix anything. another off topic question is did the SSS's come factory supercharged? I'm sure the TBSS does but im not sure about the SSS? i get the question all the time if its blown and of coarse i have to say no for now.

Not sure if this belongs here but my driver side heated set wont work. If I turn on only the back on med it works fine back only on high it works for about 2 min then shuts off and wont come back on for a while. If I try to use the back and bottom heat together it works for about 30 sec then goes off if I try to turn it back on the lights just flash and it goes back off. I can hear relays clicking when I push the buttons but i get no heat anyone know where i should start looking to fix this prob? The pass side heated seat works fine every time on any setting but my driver seat work work.

This leak that you speak of are you talking about the hole in bottom on the inlet side of the muffler just above the rolled lip? If so just about all stock mufflers Ive seen have this hole and I think its just a water drain to help keep out water and rust. I first noticed my hole at the dealer when he cranked the truck up i saw it spitting out lots of water if you notice the muffler is set at a slight downward angle to help move water that way. I was told my a forum member that our trucks have stainless exhaust stock so it should never rust out.

Has any one ever polished their stock SS wheels? I'm thinking about trying it but the main question I have is how would I get the plastic center cap to match? I have always liked the polished alum look and weight over chrome and I can do it but its hard to bring a polished alum look to plastic?
