  1. Yes, you need to have the Throttle Body replaced eventually, or it will keep happening. there are 2 Throttle body position sensors, when they get out of sync (one dying) it throws the code and puts you in limp mode.
  2. Mine has 188K , just a fluid change at 80K. BUT I was changing the shocks this weekend and the Passenger Side Seal is leaking, very messy over there... gotta go in for work.. any idea's on the cost?
  3. Driving the tires off of it. getting ready for winter wheels and new shocks!
  4. Kyle, did we meet at the Marathon in Plain City a few months ago? I mean, a Red SS in Plain City can't be 2 of ya.
  5. you're kidding? right? 188K later, no regrets, it gets even more looks now that when it was new!

  7. I've towed a lot, and this is what I tow... When I go to Bonneville, it's uphill from Omaha Neb, to the Salt Flats. 70 Mph is ok until i hit Wyoming then it gets a bit rough with the converter unlocking and dropping back into 3rd on the 6% grades in the Rockies, Tow/Haul Mode is your friend for the on-ramps. don't expect anything better than 12 mpg, and thats on the downhill return trip...

Ole' Red has been Mobil 1 from the day I brought it home, It still gets 17 MPG highway, I even have the factory fill decal and Mobil 1 Oil Cap. I was looking at the Sierra Denali, but have decided to keep driving this truck for a few more years...till chevy comes up with something better...

Ole' Red has been Stealer maintained from the beginning, but it's paid off. I've had about every problem ever brought up on the board; but hey it's a 2003; first issue from the factory. I still love this truck. It get looks from everybody, and it's never left me stranded on the side of the road(unlike ford). Now I just have to keep him on the road for a couple years, piece of cake...
  10. The full LQ9 manual is in the Engine Tech and Modification section of the board. it "should" answer your question, and possibly many others!

Drivers side alternately blows hot and cold, passenger side blows cold but "clicks" on coldest setting. threw a bunch of codes, had both sides replaced......$1,428 later works great. Ole' Red is gonna hang around till 200,000 miles now, gotta have a return on the investment. He only has 186,000 miles. Starting to nickel and dime me, Chevy better have something really nice in 2014!
  12. A Sulky is the 2 wheel cart behind the horse in harness racing.
  13. Just picked up a copy last night at the Regan National Airport. Yep, the Silverado SS and Garrell Patterson have the Honor of the first vehicle down the track, and the first record at the Wilmington Mile. Of course Ole' Red was there in his Secondary Role as my support vehicle, not quite the thoroughbred that Garrel's truck is.
  14. Garrell, you can't run a chin spoiler in Production Class, has to come on the vehicle or be available as a OEM from the dealer, over 500 made, Key word "Production". You CAN do anything you want to the motor, short of a turbo or supercharger. watch out for suggestions here, they're mostly Sat. Nite Drags, No offense guys, but the classes and rules of LSR are a world of thier own.
  15. Ohhh, slam...fightin' words at the mexican wedding..
  16. Let me see, first is a thread about how much and when you bought your truck, then this thread about original owners and mileage... I don't know about you guys but this smells like . . .MARKETING RESEARCH!
  17. Original owner , bought July 5, 2003. $36,930, sticker was $41,120. it now has 182,000 miles.
  18. Been carrying a fire extinguisher for many years in my truck. I've had occasion to use it on other peoples vehicles, but not mine...gonna be watchin' that blower motor!
  19. Truck is stock, Mechanically, valve 4.265 is on the invoice, it's a part relatively inexpensive. as far a route, 96 to the 23 in Michigan, was that truck doing 80MPH? :-)
  20. I had some fun on a recent trip to Michigan. Going thru Toledo, I feel the truck drop out of OD into 3rd, kept driving, wouldn't upshift to save it's life. Pulled into a restruant and had lunch, came back out started it up and Chcek engine light, and only one shift, 2nd to 3rd. Bummer, dropped it at a dealer in Lansing, MI, my destination. the Next Morning, the call. Code P0753 1-2 shift Solenoid, what does that have to do with OD? anyway $297 later I have a new valve 4.265, Filter Kit 4.197, Qty 2, Magnet 4.105 and 5 Qt's of ATF. I actually feel lucky, this is the first transmission issue and I have 180,686 Miles on the truck.

    Vibration

tire guy should not have slapped a ton of wheight on one side, they should have rotated the tire on the rim to to eliminate having a heavy spot on the rim and tire in the same area. i.e less weight imbalance to correct.
