  1. Hey everyone, I'm sitting in Houston Texas on a dead end road with an oversized load. Couldn't get the permit today to move with this load and I also had to litally spend the whole entire day waiting for this load to be ready. Now that I have it, I can't move with it because couldn't get the permit for it today. So it looks like I'm staying the night right here on this dead end road, right in the roadway. Anyway bored enough to come say hello?
  2. Would this be a good buy? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=151008443763&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123
  3. Anyone on here live in or around Mississippi? Just was wondering
  4. Well I don't like to be the one to burst your bubble, but you're wrong about that. ATS trucks are different colors, not all are red. ATS has black, blue, red, and some yellow trucks.
  5. Yeah it is great. This is the job I've been wanting since summer of last year. Now I finally got it. So far it's good and I tell ya, this flat bed stuff may seem like it's nothing, but when you get a load on your trailer, things get real serious then. I could not think about anything but the load on my trailer. It was crazy Thank you, I feel proud to have accomplished landing this driving job which is now my new career. It brings a smile to my face Thank you For sure is, I am happy to have made a change with my job situation. It's a huge deal for me Thanks...I think I will need the luck. Reason being because driving is scary sometimes, especially when you have to do it everyday for hours on end
  6. You know I will for sure let you know if my company sends me up there. It will be a long time yet though probably before I ever get up there because I'm still learning with this flatbed stuff because I'm new to it and I just started it.
  7. For sure will...I just try to keep accident free throughout those million miles. Driving is scary at times because of other idiots out on the road who pull dumb crap in there car or whatever they drive. Sometimes I wish I was doing something else, but then I think of why I am doing this and the reasons for it. What trucking company are you doing mechanics work for? For sure, thank you. I just hope to keep this job and get more experience along the way as I go more and more everyday without going home for a long time
  8. Yea that would be really cool. Thing is you should just start driving truck now instead of sitting on it waiting. But it depends on what kind of driving you want to do? Over the road or just local stuff. Me I'm over the road so I get to drive everywhere and sleep in my truck. Heck if my truck had it's own bathroom i'd crap in it too...just a figure of speechI got my hazmat endorsement and I'm getting my twic card also and a passport. This will probably be interesting job don't you think?
  9. Big rigs are cool because there is soo many cool things you can do to them and stuff. I see cool nice looking big rigs out there on the road sometimes. Alot of money though. Peterbuilts are my favorites for trucks. I like the 386 and 388/389 models for peterbuilts. Someday I'm hoping to get in one
  10. I'm going to try to upload a pic of my truck, but my phone won't let me. File size is too big it says.
  11. I've noticed DOT likes to target us flatbed drivers. I'm not too worried about that. I'm more focused on learning all about this flatbed hauling stuff. I'm new to flatbed hauling so I got to read up on the material and get myself educated. Maybe I'll see ya sometime when I get down to Texas again. You know I may just do that. I will be all over the country. Going to be getting my passport soon and ATS is going to send me up into Canada and Alaska when I do get. Since I live so close to Canada, they want to have me do some loads up into Canada and Alaska.
  12. Yeah, I'm working on that. I'm glad to be in the Flatbed Industry of trucking now. My other trucking job I felt like I was getting no where. And I tell you, ATS really does treat their drivers nice so far from what I've seen and experienced. This flat bed hauling stuff does make ya work more, but this is what I wanted to do. It is more work and pretty cool actually. I'm so glad to be here with ATS. You all should look for me out on the road when you're out and about. If you see me, don't be affraid to wave or honk at me to get my attention.
  13. Hey everyone, so since last year when I started trucking, I saw a company called ATS, they do flatbed hauling and heavy haul for wind tower stuff and big heavy items. Anyway so I applied, went through the orientation and right after, they put me in a truck and told me I was hired. I left my last trucking job for this one. This was a company I wanted to get in with since last year and now I'm finally here. I will be making more money supposedly than my last trucking job. Company is Anderson Trucking Services. I am in the flatbed specialized hauling division now. I know this is pretty much nothing important, but I just thought it would be cool to share this with you all.
  14. I wish it were that easy. I'm on here because I discovered the Silverado SS back in 2008 and I grew into liking it. Right now I'm a fan of it because money has not allowed me to buy one of these trucks yet. I have to pay off my student loans first or I will just dig myself a deeper hole of debt that will be hard to handle and keep up with. I'll get to that point eventually, but for right now I have to focus on paying off my bills and student loans. I like these trucks a lot and I see a lot of them out on the roads in almost every state I drive through. I saw a Intimidator SS out in Utah, guy was driving it on snow covered and salted roads. I wasn't too impressed with the sight of that. I've seen some in Tennessee and Kentucky, Texas, Illinois, Missouri and many more. I wish I could go buy one right now, but I just have to hold off. This really does suck, but bills nd student loans can drag on and on if you don't pay them off as fast as you can.
  15. Wait a dealers license is required to buy an auctioned vehicle? I don't have one of those
  16. How much is this wrecked intimidator ss going for at auction? I'll buy it and fix it up good
  17. I would buy that Intimidator SS if that salvage yard would sell it to me. Someone find out for me and maybe I will try to save it
  18. Yeah I could do that, but I got a loan out currently with my credit union now. I have to pay that off first. It was a student loan that my credit union paid off for me because the interest rate was a bit high. Credit union got me a better interest rate. I could pay it off maybe inthe next two or three months, depending on how much I work and drive and also depending on the amount of miles my company gives me per week.I'm currently switching jobs to a different trucking company doing flat bed hauling. Pays more money and company seems to be better than this one that I'm with now.
  19. Yeah this car has been reliable, but the engine is leaking oil and just before I put my car away in my storage unit, it lost all oil pressure. So I hope the oil pump didn't go out. I had just bought oil and oil filter for it the other day and was going to change the oil, but it was just too darn cold outside. I don't have a heated garage to work on my car in right now. So I'm going to be waiting till next time I get back home from driving truck again. Anyway it has one major issue that I already had repaired before. It was leaking oil out from the lower intake manifold. So I saved up money and took it into the shop for them to fix. They did fix it and it wasn't leaking oil out from that spot anymore. Now it found a new spot to leak oil and it just really is frustrating me so much. I want to finish fixing everything wrong with this car, but it is hard because since it is my daily driver while I'm at home, new problems come about and I have to end up saving more money to get them fixed too. I've basically replaced almost everything on this car. It has a lot of new par ts and it is a reliable car, but I just don't like it when it leaks oil and something else major and costly comes up. I've maintaned it good and kept it going since I'ved owned it. I'm looking to try to get it done this next time I go home again, maybe if I have the money to spare for it.
  20. Okay so I got this car that I bought in January of 2006 and I've owned it for 7 years now. People keep telling me to get rid of it and buy a newer vehicle. Oh the car I got is a 1995 Chevrolet Beretta Z26. It's a good car, but lately it just seems I've been not keeping up with the maintenance sort of, sometimes I push things off and do them later. Well I do like my car, but I just don't know if I should ever get rid of it because it's a good car and it's reliable. I have been thinking a lot now about buying a Silverado SS. Thing is before I talk to my credit union, I would need to find a Silverado SS Intimidator that I would like to buy so I have a price to tell my credit union for the loan amount. And from there they would figure the down payment amount and interest rates and monthly payment amounts. What do you guys all think? I really want to keep my car, but I kind of want to move on however I would like to finish this car first before I sell it, that is if I ever did decide to sell it. Anyone got some words of advice for me?
  21. I don't have any transportation to go anywhere.
