pre coating pics.. talk about a clean part!

Here's the sway bar installed..
-
ok.. long time since I updated.. but I got word today the first of my parts , the sway bar, is done. ill be picking that up tonite and should be able to put it on.. I gotta check to see if I have the proper bolts. I wanted to use stainless bolts, to avoid the issues I had taking the original bolts off (the were very rusted in place and were a bear to get off), however, stainless bolts may not have the strength needed.. so ill be hunting at the bolt store before I get to install this part.. but I promise ill put up a pic if I do.
-
depends on when my parts come back to me. im HOPING by this weekend.
-
oh it rusted.. a quick scuff and POR15 got it to look like the picture above
-
no.. but 165,000 miles and norther states "de icer" on the roads took all that off for me LOL
-
hehe thanks. it was a bigger job than i thought.. hoping i can wrap it up within the week

if you're running the TBSS manifold, you must be using the TBSS rails right? ok so if so , and your SSS is a 2003, you're now using returnless rails on a truck with a return fuel system, so you dont have a regulator anymore unless you're putting an aftermarket one in. aeromotive makes a nice one that works great for about 200 bucks

those covers are SICK!!!!!!!!! im in if you make any more! -
thanks! more comming.. parts out out for sandblasting\coating.. reinstallation should be soon..
-
ill throw a final pic up once its all back together.. im not really doing a 'how do'.. since i had to improvise the removal of some of the parts .. corrosion and 160,000+ miles made it a little difficult to do that.
-
got the alignment pins today.. even THOSE are MOOG brand!
-
thanks.. im trying, and learning.
-
im running the TA girdle and i have the ADDCO (spelling?) rear sway bar..
-
Still making progress here.. got new Stainless lines for the brakes.. for those taking notes, here's the correct part # for those with disc front and rear http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-672430/overview/ sway bar bushing mounts are http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ens-9-5172r/overview/ sway bar end links are http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ens-9-8121r/overview/ and these should serve as the alignment pins.. in case yours get ruined. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Moog-Brand-New-Camber-Kit-K6716-/390690512392?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5af6f81e08&vxp=mtr#ht_6579wt_1018

ok, unless someone can show me that i got the wrong part #'s here.. this is for the upper and lower ball joints on the stock arms.. you need two of each Upper http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/MOO0/K6540/03315.oap?year=2003&make=Chevrolet&model=Silverado%2B1500&vi=1412042&ck=Search_ball+joint_1412042_4018&keyword=ball+joint Lower http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/MOO0/K6541/03315.oap?year=2003&make=Chevrolet&model=Silverado%2B1500&vi=1412042&ck=Search_ball+joint_1412042_4018&keyword=ball+joint think ill pick these up today.

passenger side mirror? cruise control module?
-
all the bushings are out.. and the parts are going to powder tomorrow.
-
im having a shop press out all ball joints\bushings.. i just have to see if i can save that last upper bushing sleeve that has a bolt still in it
-
NO KIDDIN.. the bolts are seized inside those collars. i got 3 of them out.. one is fubard.. the 'hats' on the outsides.. i got four of the big ones saved maybe 2 of the smaller ones saved.. so unless i can find just those.. i may have to go to oreilley's buy a set of cheap stock bushing for 18 bucks a side, pull out the parts i need and discard the rest.. im planning, thus far, on buying MOOG ball joints, unless i get up the energy to wade through Energy Suspensions weird catalog to see if they make them.. one wheel hub is toast.. i could tell when it came off with the corrosion on it.. one is perfectly fine.. i SHOULD buy two.. but in the interest of budget\time i MAY only buy one.. i havent decided. the arms are being taken to a shop today to get eveything pushed out of them so i can clean them up and get them .... well i wont say yet.
-
well, got al lthe control arms off the truck.. which was a PITA, cuz the upper bolts were.. are.. seized in the upper bushings.. wow, what a chore they were.. cut off wheel took care of them tho.. now waiting on new parts
