  1. anybody here reside in South Carolina? I live in Goose Creek and in the past year I have only seen 1 other SS on the streets. Unforunately it's driven by a 'lower class' looking lady who cleary takes no pride in her vehicle anyways, just wondering if any of you guys are close ish so we can organize a cruise somewhere or something... doesn't matter
  2. cwest, I'm curious why you would never use an aftermarket system? it's been my experience that after enough time has passed for tech to become more widely used, aftermarket (not cheap stuff) can and usually does surpass oem quality. Obviously the install would have to be done the right way, but I think given enough time, someday there will be a reliable, safe, theft-proof system that can be adapted to most vehicles.
  3. maybe in a couple more years a good system will be on the market. until then I guess it's just more money for go fast parts
  4. a lot of nice toys being posted, here are a couple of mine the BA is a savage i put in a boyds stock and hydrodipped/duracoated. the ar is a scratchbuilt mutt (also covered in duracoat). The SKS i got in a trade for an AR lower, serial number 000025 all numbers matching with caricatures (SP?) for the chinese special forces! Couldn't pass up that deal. The USP is the most recent addition to the family, got it in a trade for a CZ-75 I had... Now to find another CZ LOL.
  5. I know new cars have this kind of tech but I think it would be kind of cool on the SS and or the VW... IIRC painless makes something similar but the kits from gallo seem to be a little more thought out and user friendly if that makes sense.
  6. anybody ever hear of or have any first hand experience with this stuff from gallotech.com? seems pretty cool... proximity door lock/unlock and pushbutton engine on/off... what do you guys think? ...man the places google will take you when bored....
  7. CZ -75 SA or SP-01 all the way. Perfect range gun and the sp-01 has a rail if you want a light/laser, etc... for home defense. CZ are the most underrated handguns in the industry. Based off of the timeless proven hi power design... you have to be pretty bad to not be accurate with these perfectly balanced beasts. czcustom.com has pretty good prices too.
  8. so I've done a bit of searching and come up fruitless... my thoughts are why isn't there a scott style cown induction hood for the SSS like there is for a TBSS? I love the smoothness of it's transitions... any thoughts on the matter?
  9. thanks for the input chp. The truck runs strong and only has 50k miles so I don't mind having a cel for a week or so since i know what it will be from... i am glad to hear i will be ok because i was really hoping to be able to put everything on a few days in advance where i have access to a lift and a full tool box vice trying to do it in a parking lot hours away from my house LOL. now to figure out a way to install my headers and get the truck to the exhaust shop without pissing off all my neighbors!
  10. ok I will probably just take it with me to charlotte (3 hours away) and throw it in when I get there... after letting the truck cool down of course!
  11. I've done a bit of searching and I'm pretty sure I will be gtg but I'd just like to get a few of the elders to chime on this... I have a 2005 SS and right now the only mod it has is a K&N intake/filter... My question is this... is the stock pcm able to adjust enough for lt headers, catless exhaust (2.5 in piping, x pipe, 2 si/so spintech mufflers) and a 160* thermostat without being tuned? I am scheduled for the black bear event in charlotte in dec but I am getting fidigity and want to install everything now!!! I know I will get a CEL for the cats, but aside from that could there be any harm done to the engine until I get the live tune? I'm pretty sure I will be safe, like I said just looking for some experienced guys to reassume my thoughts before I start throwin parts in... thanks guys
  12. sub enclosure arrived today. I was a little disappointed that I didn't really get a new book cabinet like the shipping box implied but that was quickly replaced with joy when I opened her up! Alex thanks again for the quickness in all your replies to my questions and getting that thing to me fast! Looks good can't wait to get everything hooked up
  13. hey hey i'm interested in the sub enclosure as well if aldo decides he doesn't want it
  14. hey thank you everyone for the warm welcome. the truck is a blast!! it does have some sort of catback on it but the PO did a mickey mouse job so it will all be getting replaced soon. My plan is to step down the pacesetters to 2.5 true dual into x pipe into a couple of the spintech pro streets (PN 6331 I believe) BLNAWAY~~ are you selling a sub enclosure for a 12"? Again thank you everyone for the knowledge I have already acquired and I am glad to FINALLY be a part of what seems like a pretty good group of enthuiasts!!
  15. So i've been creeping around this forum and pt.net for a couple years now... Finally got my dream truck a few months ago so I decided it's time to start getting busy... Picked up this beautiful 05 AWD SS w/ 51k miles. Only mod so far is a K&N composite intake, and painted the grill black, but I do have a brand new set of pacesetter ceramic coated headers waiting to be thrown on. Nearish future mods will be a 3/4 drop, header install and blackbear tune. Thank you guys for all the information i've acquired in the past and for the massive amounts of knowledge i am sure i will pick up in the future!! Erick-
