  1. Jddmj, you might be able to shed more light with your background in the newspaper industry... And I might be way far off here... But I can't imagine these posters being regarded the same way as say movie posters or dvds or music cds. Meaning I am thinking the artist who designed these probably got paid a set amount for the design 10 years ago and has completely forgotten about this project. Either way I highly doubt there is some royalty program in place for something that was probably never meant to be sold in the first place. Anyways if nobody wants to pursue this, I am not going to beg someone to do this, although it would be a nice thing to have but really not a huge deal...
  2. Just a quick scan back through this thread I count four people who have this poster framed not including stitches... So the question is who is willing to take theirs outta the frame and make some copies for us poor fellows like me who have bare spots in the garage with no awesome SSS poster to hang up??
  3. i know i'd be in for one if somebody does decide to make some quality copies. I just read another thread from 2003 i think where some guys were getting these without numbers on them?? http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/1980-limited-edition-ss-poster/page-2
  4. I'd buy that beautiful machine in a heartbeat. Perfectly executed imo. NOT! (in the voice of Borat of course)
  5. http://charleston.craigslist.org/cto/4362423552.html guy says they are 17x10. what do you guys think? anybody know if these will clear mcgaughys deluxe drop spindles? I know certain 17 inch wheels wont fit but can't find anything about which 17s have clearance issues... very tempted to pick these up for big red...
  6. nearish future mods are 8.1 injectors, cam (haven't decided yet) tbss/nnbs intake and TB swap and having the poor 65e built up and most likely a 3400-3600 stall thrown in. Long term goals are 408 and front mount single turbo build, but those will probably come after my next deployment to the sand box... Any thoughts, feedback etc is welcome and appreciated!
  7. Now the task at hand is to decide to stick with the 05 style hood/grill or switch to the 06 style. Either way I need to buy a new hood for the cowl. Feel free to chime in with opinions everybody. Suspension is supposed to be going in towards the end of this month as well, I can't wait! I have a thing about being high off the ground... Before I bought the truck I drove a Miata for a year after the GTI got rear ended/totaled by some dick in a ranger...so I am no stranger being low and driving around puckered butthole status at the first signs of potholes. LOL
  8. So I've had my truck for almost a year now and decided it was finally time to start documenting my 'build'... I haven't made nearly as much progress as I was hoping I would but I guess that's what happens when divorce strikes. Anyways on to the show! I got the truck with 53k on the clock in bone stock condition. the chrome bed rails and gas door sticker had to go. I never checked the dot on them but I think the tires were OE so those soon got replaced with some sumitomo's. The guy at TK messed up something when trying to match the online price I brought in so I ended up paying a little over $400 bucks for all four tires mounted balanced installed... I ran like a bat outta hell out of that place with a grin from ear to ear. The tires are pretty good. 100x better than the 8 year old rubber they replaced. Now onto the fun stuff, ordered and installed a KN composite intake and did a full tune up (plugs, wires, belts, front diff fluid, xfer case fluid) while stockpiling my new exhaust and suspension components. Also didn't like how bad the old pig was at stopping so I did the 13" Tahoe brake conversion up front and did new pads/rotors all the way around. Not sure how much difference the extra inch made since it I did everything at the same time but it stops sooooooo much better now. Got the headers installed which was actually relatively easy and had a local shop weld everything together. 3 inch collectors down to 2.5 inch pipes, x pipe about a foot or so before the spintech 6331 muffers and turn downs right before the axle. it sounds amazing. Once the weather is better I will get some sound clips on here. Next day after header intall I made the 4 hour trek to Charlotte to get tuned by Justin from BBP. All I have to say is night and day difference! Oh and it was so cold the day I got tuned my speedo decided to start acting up... Did a little painting of the front grill to freshen things up a bit a couple months ago and today I finally got around to installing my new ebay headlights. I ran a thin bead of clear silicone to make sure they don't get moisture in them but the quality doesn't seem too bad for 100 bucks and they look way better than my old foggy POS housings...
  9. anybody close to charleston sc down to help do a 3/4 drop on big red? i dont mind driving a few hours...

I went pacesetter LTs into 2.5 pipes, no cats, x right before mufflers, dumped right before axle. Vids to come later today

  11. i don't think we need to rent a track (I'm anticipating a low number of people), most tracks have a wed/fri night test and tune schedule so maybe we can hop in on one of those if some people want to get some runs in?
  12. you da man! as soon as it warms up I will be doing this as well. thanks for taking the time to put this together
  13. I vote NC but I'm down to go with the flow wherever... Somewhere that has delicious pizza and beer preferably :-)
  14. ss badges in real CF would be the shiznit! my plan has always been to leave the brake ducts and ss badges silver but this new concept is really tempting!!
  15. back in my VW days (01 gti vr6) and living in jacksonville, fl... making the 7 hour drive to Helen GA for SOWO with a couple dozen other enthusiasts once a year are some of the best memories I have. i would love to do something similar with big red. although SOWO is pretty much a week long party where the whole town shuts down LOL. still, a track day and/pr a good cruise with some good peeps always gets my vote
  16. damn VA is quite the trek but if there will be a strong showing I'm still down to make the drive. If anybody else is from SC or NC we can meet up and cruise the rest of the way together.
  17. The dopest dope I've ever smoked. Hands down. Where is the list to get one on order? Ahaha no for real though that thing came out saaaweeet
  18. Justin you are the man! truck is running like a champ now. having a slight issue with a couple rear 02 sensor codes but I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of it in no time! best $$ I've spent on the SS. anybody thinking about getting a tune needs to stop thinking about it and give this man your money!!! thanks again Bro
  19. installed my headers today. that damn drivers side rear header bolt was the biggest pita i have ever encountered. at least its done now...
