  1. I like my ARH Headers they are very nice! Only issues I had were the trans lines hitting the passenger header, had to wrap them. Also the drivers side pipe was to large to slip into the factory pipe, not really a issue since I replaced it anyway... didn't see how reducing to less then 2.5" then back up to 2.75" was good for flow. Used Flowmaster Ball and Socket Collectors and then after the factory 2.75" pipe went with 2.5" mufflers, to keep the velocity up maximizing low end without sacrificing top end. There is a H-Pipe behind the trans cross member you cant see.

  3. Some updated pics, not much but it is all I got lol
  4. I would run true duals with a H-Pipe and two Dynomax Race bullets. It will be extremely loud but not sound like a hillbilly deluxe. Cheap and effective, plenty loud for ya. The H-Pipe will help the scavenging effect without giving you a higher pitched tone and noise reduction like a X-Pipe can introduce to the system. The race bullets will only clean up the tone so its deeper and not quite as harsh. Also run turndowns not tips.
  5. Just got off the phone with Mechman and will be going with one of their 240 amp alternators. They said it will be enough for what I need but not overkill since I will not be cranking it up that often.
  6. Well damn, did some research on the alternator and they are no good. What do I really need? My amp bench tests usually around 1800 RMS and I do plan a 4 channel later on but nothing crazy. Don't want to go overkill but don't want to go cheap either. Any help is appreciated.
  7. That is why I said I am sure there are better options. I am a gear head and drag racer, haven't been into systems since high school lol
  8. Haven't really decided. I am more of a racer and usually used Optima but I am sure there are better options.
  9. I actually typed it DC Electrical and then corrected it. They have good reviews, didn't want to spent to much on the alternator. Hoping this is enough.
  10. No, my bad its DB Electrical. http://www.dbelectrical.com/p-9756-alternator-high-output-220-amp-43l-48-53-60-silverado-03-04-05.aspx
  11. 220 amp DB Electrical alternator on the way! Hope that will be enough.
  12. I have heard and read nothing but good things about Fi After calling Diamond after having second thoughts about the recommended ported box on there manual, they told me that was a marketing ploy and the minimum you should run. So I said heck no, screw that! lol O my lol, I must be getting old. Don't think I could handle that, open headers on a drag car/truck is one thing but that much bass is another haha
  13. Well after thinking it over I canceled my order for the Diamond D6's and went with two Fi SSD 10's with added cooling. Have always wanted to try out a Fi sub, so I figured what the hell lol
  14. Tuning shouldn't be that hard, my problem is that I am a protectionist and will spend hours never deciding what I like lol Sure thing man! Hopefully I will get some pics and results posted up soon.
  15. If they couldn't hold up to a W1 or W3 then you had a bad built box. My last Fox Box had a 12" Diamond Audio D6 with 650ish RMS going to it, they are comparable to a W6 I will be running two of those subs in this box with 1600 RMS going to them, have no worries at all about it holding up. The vented 10 box like I will be using for my 12's will work very well for your W3's. Since your W3's, if they are the v3, optimal box is a 1.25 ft^3 vented enclosure with a tuning frequency of 32 Hz. The Fox Box's 1.2 ft^3 and 36 Hz tuning frequency is close enough... You will be shocked at how much better is sounds!
  16. It better seals the box, reinforces it and makes it next to indestructible. Ever watch the mythbusters on bed liner? Its impressive stuff.
  17. MDF sprayed with bed liner. I have ran one if his box's in my Ram I use to have, sounded amazing and was a solid box. Fox Box's are just not as well known in the GM world, he started out building box's for the Ram first and hands down they are the best for them. IMO I am willing to bet he makes the best box's for GM trucks also but hasn't really gotten his name out like he did with Rams. What is your system? Thanks man!
  18. ORLY? How much would he want for one? Are they a good quality unit?
  19. Yep they are to make room for large magnets. According to Joe Fox the builder the back seat will sit just fine. I am sure it will wear the rear sears out where those are but that does not bother me. Thanks man, I am hoping it comes together smoothly. I will be getting a upgraded alternator because I know the factory 105 amp will not cut it. Looking @ a 200 or 220 amp.
  20. What I already had collecting dust on a shelf was a Kenwood Excelon KDC-x889 circa 2005 BNIB, had been saving in case I ever wanted to build a system again lol Also have a Sirius tuner I will integrate into the truck using the factory antenna. Door speakers are upgraded already to the JBL GTO's since they are 2 ohm and worked well with the OEM Bose, odds are will be replaced. So what I have ordered so far: PAC OS-2C-BOSE PAC SWI-X And now the good stuff! Diamond Audio D61500.1 And for the subs I just ordered two Diamond Audio D612D4's The box will be a Fox Acoustics dual vented downfire 10 box, that I will cut out to make the 12's fit. The specs on the box are 1.2 ft^3 and tuned to 36 Hz per side. The 12" D6's will do very well in this box!
