    ss vs 350z

Digs they don't have the upper hand, but run one from a 40+ roll and its a different story. When my truck was running low 14's my friends 350z pulled 4 good lengths on me from a 40 roll by the time I hit 100. His does have a intake, exhaust, and headers, I had tune, 2600 stall and 4.30 gears (everything else bone stock) I bet your friends Z is a standard and he does not know how to drive it, or you have some mods to your truck. Right now with a base tune, cam, headers, intake and exhaust. From a 40 roll we were neck and neck through the first of 2nd with me pulling pretty good before the shift, then I banged limiter and sat there. To bad I can't use 1st on the street, being a 2wd it just spins @ any speed. Currently in the shop for the trans issue. Don't under estimate them they are quick if you find a mildly modded one with a good driver... lol
  2. It has more overlap then what I would run.... lol Sorry.... had too...
  3. How about 999 Washington's?
  4. I would run something like this, using Comp's LSL lobes. 227/235 .614/.621 110 LSA 107 ICL
  5. Talk to Brian Tooley or Geoff IMO And get a cam truly speced to your truck and what your looking for. Comps recommendation is rough @ best and TSP is not much better, the guys you speak to over the phone are not camshaft designers. The TSP guy is a salesmen and will push that he has seen work the best or sell the best. The Comp salesmen has a bit more broad knowledge but is a jack of all recommendations and a master of none. Brian Tooley and Geoff are highly skilled in specing cams for LS motors, they will not steer ya wrong.
  6. How loud? I mean some consider the factory SS exhaust loud and others feel anything less then open headers is not that loud.
  7. Or you could do what I did... 3" from the collectors to where the factory flange/slip connecters were, replacing the factory 2.5" piping. Then use the factory 2.75" piping to 2.5" mufflers. IMO that will be the most efficient design that is simple... (it does have a H-Pipe but its hidden by the cross-member in the pics)
  8. My VHO is for playing, not racing even though I do race it. I am happy its a 2wd because it is kinda hard to drift a AWD truck. Also doing donuts, burnouts...etc... fun stuff. @ the track a 2wd will always be faster then a AWD traction permitting. On the street a AWD is king from slow rolls.
  9. Usually... Unless it was my old QC Ram you lined up against lol Ran a single cab @ the track once. It was just plan sad... he was in the high 13's and I was in the 12.6's. Funny thing was he was laughing at me when I was installing my slicks when I first got there.
  10. Stock other then tune, 2600 stall, and 4.30 gears - 14.317 @ 92.65 Still have yet to run with intake, cam, injectors, LT headers, and exhaust...
  11. I also had issues installing my ARH headers, they were not a direct fit. The drivers side midpipe wouldn't slip into the other pipe, brake lines on the drivers side needed relocating, so did the trans lines and a wiring harness on the passengers side. But the build quality is second to none though! The issue wasn't all that bad because I redid the exhaust after the midpipes anyway, to eliminate the 2.5" reduction bottleneck.
  12. Take your pick... Adapter: http://texas-speed.com/p-2161-racetronix-fuel-injector-harness-adaptors-minitimer-to-uscar.aspx Pigtail: http://texas-speed.com/p-2164-racetronix-fuel-injector-uscar-ev6-pigtail.aspx
  13. Welcome to the site! Yes the Hypertech is not half as good as a custom tune from one of the sponsors on here. But if your wanting to try it out since you already own it I understand that. you may get better input from a non-performance related form. Since odds are your not going to find someone on here running a Hypertech. Jay
  14. Yeah the progress sucks but here are some updated pics:
  15. Had the same exact exhaust manifold bolt break off on my truck, actually it was broke off when I found it. Pulling the head is the best way to fix it and the only way due to the location.
  16. Well, guess I will look out for that in my race truck. But it is not boosted, just a nasty large cube N/A build. Sounds crazy though! lol
  17. How the hell do you loose a crank bolt? lol I TQ'ed my ARP crank bolt to 250 ft/lbs and it ain't going anywhere.
  18. Here is the sound after the exhaust. Crazy but this video makes it seem quieter then the first setup when its actually louder. I like that it masks the cam.
  19. Sure thing man. Your going to like it, the kit makes the install a breeze.
  20. He will get to ya. He had a run on them recently, just is a busy guy and does this on the side. Same thing with me but I got a late resonce and the package a day or so after.
