  1. I thought that the bigger unit was good to 600hp, I know it is maxed out but hey get me 400hp to the wheels and I would be happy and if they work out the liquid to air IC then I think that we will see these type of superchargers from the factory on some GM cars/trucks, it might be smaller displacement but these are super quiet and (with the transmission on the supercharger) might help get the power output while keeping some of the MPG that the CAFE is going to require...I know I am guessing but with gas prices like they are performance cars are going to change!!! The camaro is the perfect example, they cant build it like a vette and sell it cheaper. I know I am rambling now... I cant wait to go back to W2W! here is the link to the Performancetrucks thread
  2. quality kit but need some work. I have heard that it needs some insulation b/c of the underhood heat. There is one guy with it on a SSS and he has not posted any #'s. Installation will go easy b/c of how quality the kit is, your tuner will be able to get more power than the supplyied tune. Goto perfrtrucks.net and there is some relativly new info there. you might look into the rotrex turbo from W2W it might be just as expensive.
  3. what primer is that?? epoxy?? I want to get my project into primer this summer.thanks joe
  4. not the race van:) doesnt it say zippy on the side??? one less ass on the street!
  5. I have one too, I am in Michigan. Shipping is a factor with something that large.
  6. I'll post my hours when I goto lunch
  7. I really love it when people under estimate how powerful word of mouth is and how these enthuasist (sp) groups are very strong in affecting how people spend their $$$ I'll put the firsrt $1 into the silveradoss legal fund ha hah
  8. yea, where in MI?? I dont want to beat up on you untill I know how far away you are
  9. I could be wrong about the two-piece thing. next is some attention to my 1950, I have decided to either get it on the road or get rid of it, so I am in a parts hunt for that project, which in turn I hope gets me to a 408 in the SSS and my old LQ9 into the 50. It is hard for me to find affordable parts yea, I remember watching a blue truck (fuelslut) on the dyno and all I could see was a decal in your vent and the scream of your radix
  10. and there has been some debate if it is worth dealing w/him for a set of bars I pm'd the guy who was on here telling use he bought Smokeybear out and got not reply how can internet business not reply to e-mail and such
  11. Done. I did not even chage it yet, but I chenged the TBSS oil Notice the Blaced out SS's on the side, very cool mod to darken it a bit
  12. Installed bottom, the white PVC washes the photos Top-side is still stock looking Yours will not be just like mine but I hope this helps. I think the new ram-air tube is different, it is one piece, where I think the newer ones are made in one piece.
  13. Notice how it is not too water tight, so a puddle could 'overflow' out of the top of the PVC section. I used 3/4 pipe insulation. it has a sticky side so I cut it down, leaving the sticky side to keep it on the plastic air box. See the impression if the blue hose I used to protect the edge, taht seems like a good enought seal 3" hole in air-box
  14. This is the assembled bottom of the box, notice the hose placement. This is the small section of PVC pipe. It is 3" PVC. I cut it at angles on both sides to help my offset. It needs to be toward the rear of the truck, so that the 3" hole is in the correct spot on the plastic air-box. It is connected to an old LT1 intake elbow that I cut donw to reduce the stress from flexing. You could use better PVC fitting or what ever you decide to use to get the ram-air back far enough to get in the stock air-box. Installed Bottom.
  15. I just wanted to return the help I always recieve here. I dont know what I would do w/o you all to help keep my truck in tip top shape, thanks. I spent much time researching intakes and air filters, and I finally decided on how I was going to do mine. At first I wanted a K& N in the stock box, but I found that I want to use a stock filter just changed regularly and might use the K&N at the track for testing and such. These are the basic tools I used, it is an 11mm socket for the metal airbox support. this is what goes from the vent to the air-box. this is looking up at the entire setup from the bottom. This is the metal part you will cut. I used a 4" hole saw for the steel part and a concentric 3" for the plastic air-box. I split some air hose to make a cover for the edge of the metal which was sharp even after I filed it a bit, just to be safe and it ended up helping the seal. another note is that the space between the boxes is small so I started by cutting a 1" slice of 3" PVC to help me see where to drill so it was not in the side of the box or where the support clips are, this helps hide it when looking in the engine compartment. The way I did it was I put the ring in place between this part and the air-box, marked the hole and drilled the 4" first. then I used the hole saw to find the center of the 4" hole on the plastic box and used the 3" saw for that so the holes are centered on each other. To be continued...
  16. they can record our phone numbers and such but they cant keep stations from unfair prices, gouging, and record profits...wow we should spread this crap to other coutries and call it democracy,ha ha ha, oh yea and everybody better fill up before the holiday weekend cause its going up!
  17. I think 160* t-stat ALLOWS you to advance the time more if desired for a little more power, but, not required. -Korey- <{POST_SNAPBACK}> and I dont think a basic handheld unit will be able to adjust fot a thermostat, you will have to get a true PCm re-flash, TRUST me, it is worth it!!!
  18. TBSS??? What changed your mind? was it the thought of redoing all that work??
  19. this is the first style volant ram air tube connect to the stock box. the fisrt style tube uses two pices, and I think the new one is one piece, not really sure. I am going to take some more pics since this was easy and I think you could see gains even w/o the tube. When i post more pics you will see the way I kind of took a short cut with sealing the tube so that any excess water will not get into the stock airbox.
  20. are you tall or is he short? pretty kick ass!
