  1. I would like to see one done right, with the cladding andf all. dont think the step sides look bad, and it will piss of ford guys
  2. for a car 100lbs =.1sec on our trucks its about half 100lbs=.05sec so I dont see the ability to pull off the amount of weight you would need to get a decent gain. now if it was a race truck its a different story.
  3. great point about being a glimpse into a man's head:) alot of the time empty and then alot of great ideas
  4. did the same with a set of locks...tacked some extras down and found the orginal. Big excuse to take a break.
  5. dealer is gonna screw you on value IMO. but if you are ready for that, go for it. They will do a test drive/ once over of your trade in and give you an offer and then a wirte up of the entire sale. I have a funny story about me going half nuts when a used sales guy gave me an offer on an audi I wanted to trade. staying in the GM family will help. good luck. did'nt you just drop your truck?? Interested in swapping off some parts b4 you trade it in? Let me know.
  6. have you looked at the 2005 police packages. they are avaliable, affordable...
  7. vid is crazy...you pegged the tach
  8. would a failing rear end give you the same feel as a converter/trans issue? my stall is pretty loose too(3200) i hiave to check on my rpm drop between gears
  9. i think it uses a shorter belt with a 200a alt...
  10. take your time. the crank will be a fight, gave me the most headache on my fist cam swap. the valve springs are a PITA...get a GOOD magnet to grab the spring clips, the one I have has a head that is pretty big(1/4"+) make sure to tap them, to make sure they are fully seated pull the cam slow, and take your time putting it back, slow and easy. put a rag inside the front cover hole as soon as you have it off. get a pad, I had a good bruse on my chest from leaning over the truck doing the job have fun! enjoy doing it. so much of this hobby is getting your hands dirty, a big goofy smile and a few beers.
  11. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm?singlepart=1&partnumber=19244611 reading this the 454 might be more like a LS7 than I thought
  12. speed enforcement. I was going to say about the trend to have smooth tops with the low key lettering...some depts near me have only one side of some CV's lettered. cheating
  13. gm sells a LSx454 that would be sweet, throw 454 down the side of the truck. you could do a 408 on a budget. way more ways to get power than going "LS7"
  14. jfyi there is a guy on pt.net with a 122 Head unit he was asking about whatits worth... 2300 6.0L times? what was the guys name who must work for eaton....had a reg cab AWD w/ a RED TVS blower. here http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/showthread.php?t=399794&highlight=awd+tvs+2300 ok edit. TVS1900 6.0L http://www.undrprsr.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=44&Itemid=40 12.3 @9psi for ref
  15. they are just hitting the streets with the 6.2 the first run had 'tuned' 5.4's Hennesey's rep is running low. GMC has a concept out to compete...dont think its LSA powered, but it shuold be and would kick some ford butt
  16. sounds good Chase. Am I the only one that is not surprized that this thing has scary power?? I am excited to have such awsome guys blazing a super fast path in a heavy truck. +1
  17. this truck is surposed to compete with the Ford Raptor...
  18. move the vette. you are right on getting your debt down, just takes some effort. GL
  19. what he said! The trend IMO with L92/GEn IV heads is they dont really shine till above .600 lift. lift dont mean much unless you know the cam....so if you cam lift is into the .600's then its worth the $$ to have WCCH work them. in my case I kept the lift below .600 so porting was not in the budget. Steve really hit all the points, lifter would not touch, OE bolts are good... the cam gear is an interesting upgrade, I fully plan to add when I pull the truck apart again. I would not get that pump. I would stay stock till tuning says I need more. then I'm looking into Flex fuel pump or a denso pump (all budget and OE tuff) I am not tuned anywhere near close enough to say how good I am for fuel with my 42's and stock pump/vette reg, so I could be wrong about needing a pump right away.
  20. ACDelco MU1378Airtex E3559MGeneral Motors 10355739, 15113126, 88966962 if GM ran the stock pump at a higer voltage there would be a box of some type??? Sounds too good to be true. I'll keep looking for more info.

  22. xlink is the next best thing since slice bread
  23. yes more. Supersub is running his still @ 800HP w a booster. I dont know how its set up from GM bucket style return/returnless?? Atomic on PT.net has a denso pump that IMO is gonna be the one for guys to run thats comparable/cheaper than a flex fuel set up. The denso pump @14v runs 300LPH IIRC... To add to the discussion any one have some part #'s?? what pump is in the basket?
  24. welcome back. hope your trip earned you some mod money
  25. sweet. was that blue truck slow5.0?
