  1. Got these today as part of my Fathers Day gift from the kids so I didn't waste anytime. Thanks to a write up on here is was smooth sailing. The only surprise was having to drill holes to mount them up. I guess my wife and kids got tired of hearing one blown speaker.
  2. JC is was the pics of your truck that made me lean that way. If i do take a chance I guess I will do chrome on my Victory red?
  3. Thanks for the pics slow roller. That's a real nice looking truck. You did good with the accessories. The wheels really were the cherry on top. My problem is I can't live with stuff like that. If it's not up to my liking I'm gonna try again or ditch that idea. I could care less what people see and think it's what I have to look at everyday in my garage. Thanks for the honesty and sharing that sweet slow roller. Perfect reason why if I did try a grille it would be the speed grille as I'm thinking the mesh would hide the OEM grille and other imperfections better. Thanks again for sharing
  4. I would probably lean torwards cutting the old out instead of having clamps and zip ties seen plus seeing the old grille behind it. So what's your top picks? Or should I ask what are you running? I try not to be too picky but when I buy stuff for any of my cars I want to buy it once. Thanks for the input as it all helps.
  5. Based off of what I have read from all of you on this forum I'm not sure it's worth going for a different grille. It sounds like most of you aren't 100% happy with the clamp on styles? I would hate to join the club and buy something just to figure out how much I hate it due to shitty installation design or because you can see the old grille behind it. I would be up for a grille that would replace the stock one but can't see putting something over it. Only reason I want a grille now is because I just put the shopman bow tie on and the speed grille would set it off as it's the only I like but clamps over as well. Anyone know of a grille that actually replaces the OEM and not just covers it? Probably a sore topic but any help would be appreciated.
  6. Seeing if there is any interest in getting a few of these trucks if not more together at some events. Im always down to ride.

39 year difference but almost identical numbers. Both pretty much weigh the same, pretty much same hp and torque. But I must say the SS smokes em ALOT better:)
  8. Thanks again to all for the input. I new what I needed to do but wasn't sure if somehow it got tweaked during shipping. Can't wait to get it set right. Pretty sweet piece. Pretty sad I can honestly say that's my first mod. Need to finish my 67 Cadillac build before I can justify dumping money in the SS. Will be done soon.
  9. Thanks for the good info. I would leave it but wouldn't be happy seeing it off like that. Will open up the holes and see what I get. I appreciate the response. I am glad I got that piece as it does look pretty sick. Thanks again
  10. Just got mine and installed it right away. Seeing if anyone has had the same issues I am having. Great looking piece and I'm very happy with it but it sits tight on one side and has gaps on the other side. Thinking the only thing I can do is take it off and open the holes a bit to slide it over and re tighten it?
  11. Thanks for the comment. We shall see how long they last.

So far so good. Hook up real nice.

    Turned out good

Love the piece but hate being a perfectionist. Doesn't sit perfect all around but does look nice.
  15. From my research our truck is a 6 bolt by 5.5 the trailblazer ss is a 6 bolt by 5. I believe you can get an adapter to make them fit but I never do adapters so my opinion would be to move to the 22 inch rim instead of using an adapter to make them fit. I would love to put those tbss replicas on my truck as well but don't want any bigger than the stock 20's. For me if the weight was less on the 22's I might bite but would feel obligated to re gear to the 4:10 ratio on my 06 to help move the bigger rim size. Just my opinion but those wheels do lots of justice on our trucks.
  16. Factory reproductions sell tbss standard 20x8
  17. Aldofashow and Blown346 I thank you Two for all the imput. I will indeed try to get the heater core cleaned out the best I can. Might take a chance at CLR and just make sure it doesn't sit long. I am indeed going to flush the rest with Evans and then use his coolant. That's the best stuff out there and it just makes sense. If it keeps the system cooler I'm all about it. Gonna start gather the parts and will post up on the project soon enough.
  18. Yeah just join me on the Evans stuff:) My fluids are always good just looking for the best option since I'm doing the pump. Thanks for all the great help and keep you posted and do the same.
  19. I looked on some other forums as well as google searches for CLR radiator flush. It's also on the bottle about the warnings. Never used it so not sure what the damage would be short term or long term but that's not a chance I'm willing to take. I'm actual gonna just pull the trigger with Evans. Gonna flush with DI water, pull the block plug to flush all water out them fill up with Evans coolant. The price isn't bad based on what our systems hold. Gonna buy Three gallons and that would be more than enough I'm hoping.
  20. WARNING to all CLR flushing not recommended. Not for use on Copper, Brass or Aluminum. Any sensors such as temp sensor will be affected. I wouldn't be willing to take that chance of doing more bad than good. It sounded really good but gonna look into other alternatives. Maybe another flush liquid or I was thinking DI water? Just figured I would share what I found.
  21. Aldofashow Damn that Evans $hit is unreal:) Looks like the way to go but damn. 44 bucks a gallon all the way to 113 a gallon ouch. Not sure how many gallons for a complete flush but I would imagine it could be worth it. I am indeed gonna do the CLR flush after I do some research on it. I never buy what people sell unless I do some research on my own but seems like a great idea. Thanks for your advice on the Evans stuff gonna see if I can find it cheaper somewhere. Thanks again
