I would need about 14 degrees of shims to make it correct, seems like a lot. im thinking more along the lines that something is wrong. the kit came with a 1 degree wedge to correct pinion angle, but thats clearly not enough.
it came on the truck when i bought it
You should sell it to me. It may cause harm with that drop..... lol

I see you have the hotchkis rear sway bar..... where did you get that?
-
The SS used the same floor mats as a regular Silverado. They should still be available at the dealer....
-
Radio Shack is still in business? Lol.....
-
The Silverado SS is a go fast truck. Not a go anywhere truck.

Uhm. Ive never seen a frame that bad here like ever. Even the ones at our junkyards that have been sitting there for decades.

It is pretty easy. When I worked at a dealer we typically charged an hour to replace and program one. That was about 8 years ago when there were tons of these and the clusters were dropping like flies. I know you can do it with a Tech 2 diagnostic tool. Not sure if any other tools can. I would call dealer and get a quote or find someone that has a tech 2.

So what was it?

The issue with this is when you go to sell it. People make clones all the time, the certificate gives you the number vehicle out of the 933 that were sold. Its basically the birth certificate for this truck. Otherwise any title will just state Silverado 1500 ext cab, since the ss was a options package. Just like a camaro SS, it woud only state Z28 as that is how it was made then shipped off to SLP to have the appearance package installed.
You cant fake a SSS an ISS or SS Fbody. Just need to look at the SPID label in the glove box. Look for the right RPO codes. The VIN is also on the label so you can authenticate it. In my opinion why a ISS wont bring big money is it doesnt differ performance wise over a regular SSS. All the ISS package got You was some badges a spoiler and some busy headrests. Yes you got a COA but unless your a diehard Dale fan..... and lets face it hes been gone a long time..... if you want big money it has to have Zero miles. 88k while low isnt exactly new. I have 71k on my Red 06 which from a color standpoint is the most rare for 06.

I want to get a toneau for the truck. I like the roll cover toneau covers. Im looking at the Pace Edward and was curious if anyone here had one and if they liked it.

I hate to break it to ya but you may only get a $1000-$1500 premium over a regular ol SS. They are not super race vehicle as one would think. At the end of the day it just a used truck with some added tack on stuff that a regular SS didn't have. Also your going to find that most banks won't finance something that old so it may have to wait for a cash buyer..... At the end of the day it's only worth what someone is willing to pay....

The a.c. blower on mine didn't work also. The display would show fan speed at max but no air blowing. Mine just needed a blower control module.
Its called the blower resister. Common problem easy fix.....

psualumni / matslp488 - thanks for that info. My Intimidator did not have the decal under the SS badge, fairly sure my tailgate was original (before I had the truck painted), and from brochure pics I can find online those trucks didn't have it either - but that's not definitive proof as brochure/flyer pics are often pre-production. I am thinking though that the Intimidator didn't have the decal, maybe because they thought it would be "too much" along with the Intimidator script. Any other ISS owners here that could chime in?
Richard
ISS trucks didnt get that sticker..,.,

Nope gotta be bright red..... Ill stick with what I gots....
-
Does anyone k ow if they made in red? I have a black one....
-
I like that wheel..... it should look sharp on the truck.
-
When was last time you serviced the t-case? If fluid is bad you will sometimes get a skipping feeling ...... to hard to diagnose through my keyboard.....
-
Auto trac should be blue.... if its black that is not good. No mention of how many miles are on t case......
-
With that many miles it just worn out. It could be a bunch of things..... as mentioned above any codes or check engine light? Even if light isnt on you can scan chances are it has a code for something.
