  1. Nice! Can you explain in the first pic...the all black rim and how you got the silver in the middle of the cap? Did you powdercoat the rim, and the paint the cap but not the chevy emblem center?

I wouldn't know exactly as I bought the truck like that, but it looks like to me they just painted around the chrome piece, as in they tapped it up or something.

  2. Looks amazing bro. My only question is does the flip kit ride better than the shackle and hanger kit Tony sells.

Thanks boss! And personally I feel its pretty smooth, should be much better once I get it c-notched, but then again ive never had hangers and shackles.

Looks really nice! Are those 22" reps or the stock 20" with smaller rubber?

    They are 22" reps.

  3. Finally got to dropping her, big thanks to Tony from NorcalSS for the huge amount of advice and help he provided me, he was able to catch a few mistakes I made when piecing together my drop kit, and gave me a great deal on parts.

The truck is an 04 AWD, with a 4/5 drop, I used DJM 3" A arms with DJM Lowering Keys in the front, and I used a Flip Kit with a DJM 1" lift shackle in the rear.

Also have belltech street performance shocks all around. Still need a C-notch which I will be getting this weekend.

Let me know what yall think.

  4. You can drill the fronts, the rears are best to remove the whole metal bracket, then bolt them directly to the frame. There is a pre drilled hole for them....I can tell you though that you are gonna need to notch the frame for 5" drop.... what parts did you use to drop the front?

Yeah that's the plan to get it notched ASAP, but I figured id ask since the truck is sitting on those bump stops, and I wanted to see the full drop, to decide to go the full 6" or leave as is.

And I went with 3" DJM A arms in the front, with lowering keys, and in the back I did a flip kit with a 1" lift shackle.

    Pics Yo!

I will post pics as soon as she gets her new shoes later today, and I take her to get an alignment :wink2:

  5. So I finally got my truck dropped yesterday, and I went with a 4/5 drop.

The rear seems to be sitting on the bump stops, so my question is how do I remove these now that the truck is dropped.

Do I remove just the piece of rubber, or the metal piece its attached to as well?

Also I know there are bump stops in the front as well, were those suppose to be modified as well?

  6. I need some help, as I recently picked up some DJM A arms from Tony.

My issue is I cant get the old arms off, where the ball joint is connected to the spindle.

Maybe im doing something wrong or missing a step, but I spent all day hammering it and neither side came off.

I initially took the axles off and nut from the ball joint and tried hammering it out from the bottom, it didn't work.

Tried the fork in between the spindle and arm, no good either.

Took the torsion bar off, still no success, tried beating the spindle on the side, where is has two nipples, and no success.

I need some direction at this point, and Im not sure what to do anymore, I tore up the ball joints and they don't budge.

I thought about sawing the ball joint off, but im a little scared of all that.

  7. Yeah, happened to me on my SS and on my previous truck. I had actually four HID's running on at all times, and when I tried to even roll up the windows or some, all the lights would dim.

Not sure what causes this, my wild guess would be the alternator, but im just saying.
