  1. I was on my way to Bullheadcity, AZ. Took the 40 east all the way past Needles. I enjoyed the drive. 1st time ever out there. When I drove thru dagget I was like maybe I'll see Desrtrat.....

next time maybe you will.. if you go to Bullhead again, off the 40, take the Daggett exit and just before the train tracks and that's National Trails Highway, Route 66, go east and enjoy the ride.. :driving: all the way to Needles..just have a full tank of gas... :smash:

  2. I drove thru Dagget last Sunday, had an eye out for ya.....

oh yes, beautiful down town Daggett.. i moved a couple month ago, only a few miles away. but i'm down at the AM-PM and the Vegas truck stop just about daily. what made you drive thru Daggett ? most people avoid it at all cost.. but it dose have it's history, from the 1880's and Route 66.

  3. I favor the "Colonial Cream lower and the top in India Ivory". It looks so much more 1950's than the other colors, so I think it keeps the classic look of the car. Other accessories can modernize the car, but I think that color combination really fits the "personality" of the car. Whatever you decide, the '57 is a true classic! :chevy:

    :withstupid:

the outer colors look good, but they have been over done. i think the original color would stick out more due to it being different than the rest..good luck on what you decide..

  4. Havn't had to many runins with chicks while driving my SS because THERE ARE NONE in Alaska!

my dad was based out of Dutch Harbor in the Navy during WW II. and he always use to say, that there were 2 woman behind every tree in Alaska..he said the only problem was that the nearest tree was over 150 miles away...

  5. they look like quick reference cards for a Sun engine diagnostics machine. the cards were like cheat sheets. ounce you had the car/truck hooked up, you pulled the card for that make/model and it had all the specs you needed for just about any repair.. every year Sun would have updated cards for you..this is OLD SCHOOL repair.. using a timing light, dwell meter, vacuum gauge, and a Osceola scope for tune ups. if you know what your doing you can get it spot on and tell what plug is a couple thousands out of gap, and what cylinders are low on compression they were great machines..this is the type of equipment i learned on back in the late 60's..

  6. Yup, the lights go out as advertised. Actually it hasn't occured since I changed the battery. Seems to have gone away. Weird.

that sounds more like a BCM issue. over the years GM has had issue with the BCM not switching components off when programmed to. one major issue was battery's going dead. most times the fix was to have the BCM reflashed and it took care of the problem. replacing/disconnecting the battery may have reset the BCM. if any more issue IMO i would get the BCM checked or reflashed..

    good luck..

  7. it's not a direct bolt in. the biggest issue is the housing mounts i believe. someone stated that the front cross member is not compatible with the standard GM 4X4 front diff mounting points..you can inter change most parts, but you need to retain the center section..better off IMO just rebuild what you have..

  8. in CA YES they can..if you have outer than factory tint on your front windows even if they are down you can be ticketed..it falls under a road side safety check. if they want they can check your tires for thread depth, all lights are working properly, and conform with D.O.T regulations, seat belts, and so on.. if they really want to legally bust your chops, they can make you pop your hood and do a emissions visual test right there. basically they can do what ever they like as long as it comply s with CA. motor vehicle codes.. you argue with them, then it gives them grounds to impound your vehicle for inspection because you "MAY" be hiding something..

it sucks but that's CA law

  9. i admit i take mine to the dealer for services. i supply the M1 and $39 and they do the rest. reason being that it is more convenient for me. not having to crawl around on a gravel/dirt parking area, and getting older it's getting tough on my knees and shoulder joints. i'm in and out in less than 1 hr, and i get free coffee and doughnuts while i wait....
